Thanks @lakens and @smreeteemehta! I had not read Medawar's paper. Great stuff. I have to say I teach business school students to treat their theories as systems of expectation that frame their hypotheses. (Link in next post.)
New episode on P. Medawar's paper "Is Scientific Paper a Fraud?" is out now! nulliusinverba.podbean.com/e…

Second part of the episode on p-hacking is out today! (You can blame Smriti for the delay.) We discuss accusations of p-hacking, whether p-hacking should still be considered a QRM, and how we might reduce the prevalence of p-hacking: nulliusinverba.podbean.com/e…

New episode of Nullius In Verba, part 1 of 2: What is metascience? nulliusinverba.podbean.com/e… We dig into the history, starting from 1938, and discuss the role of philosophy, sociology, and psychology, and what, if anything, makes metascience it's own discipline.

New episode of @nulliusverbapod on Premature Experimentation: nulliusinverba.podbean.com/e… Are experiments overused, and should we make greater use of other approaches to knowledge generation? If so, which methods should we use instead? Enjoy!

In our next episode of Nullius In Verba we will dive into the history of metascience. The first mention of 'metascience' in the literature we could find is Morris, 1938. Do you know of an earlier mention of the term 'metascience'?

No new episode this week! Smriti is busy teaching an introduction to psychology course, and Daniel is relaxing in his garden with a new puppy.

We are very happy that the content of our little podcast is resonating with fellow academics. Although, with more than a thousand listeners per episode, maybe we are not that little anymore 🤗
If you are a researcher in health sciences and haven't already done so, I would encourage you to give @nulliusverbapod a listen. Some very thought-provoking discussions and readings that I wish I had been exposed to much earlier in my career.
