OB3 came out on top on learner engagement, data ownership and user-friendly interfaces. It surpasses major players in online forum collaboration tools. These are at the core of OB3's UI design (see Gomez & Tamblyn, 2012). It's wonderful to see them turn up in a comparative study.
ALT This image is of a table containing the results of a comparative study of four online forum technologies. This was undertaken by an enterprise client enrolling 14000 students yearly. The table has six columns. From left to right, column one is labeled “evaluation criteria”, column 2 “description”, column 3 “OB3”, column 4 “Moodle”, column 5 “ONCN, and column 6 “MS Teams”. The evaluation criteria is comprised of 10 topics “flexible learning”, “social and constructivist learning”, “learner driven learning”, “learner inclusivity”, “data ownership”, “hypermediality”, “user friendly”, “scalability”, “integration to other technologies”, and support and support resources”. OB3 came on top on each criteria and with a warning that it could be “potential for disruption to BAU”. This table is used with permission.
