The landlord and his farmhand were going to town in a horse-drawn cart. On the road, they came across a pile of cow dung. The landlord said to his farmhand, "If you eat this dung, I'll give you the cart." The villager ate it and became the new owner of the cart.
After a while, they came across another pile of cow dung. Thinking, "Now this landlord will disgrace me in the village," the villager said, "Lord, if you eat this dung, I'll give you the cart back." Seizing the opportunity to get his cart back, the landlord, with difficulty, ate the dung and took his cart back.
After a while, the villager returned to his landlord and asked, "Lord, this cart was yours when we left, and it's yours again now. But why did we eat this dung?"
