Feeling good can feel bad when u have #OCD, especially if it’s a feeling u’ve been denied for a while, & especially if it’s in any proximity with an intrusive thought. If ur OCD gives u a hard time about feeling proud of ur hard work, double down w more #ERP.

This Father’s Day, we’re shining a light on a lesser-known truth: Perinatal OCD can also impact new Dads. Perinatal OCD is a real and treatable mental health condition that can affect parents of any gender — including fathers — during pregnancy and after childbirth. It often involves unwanted, intrusive thoughts and compulsions related to the health or safety of the baby. Today, we honor all the dads navigating parenthood, especially those facing invisible struggles. You’re not alone — support is out there, and help is possible. When time is the reason your distress goes down, then the brain learns that it wasn’t compulsions. But maybe don’t just sit there frozen while you wait. Go ahead and pour that coffee and keep moving forward in defiance of #ocd!
