@Ducati_India has just pulled the wraps off the Desmo450 EDS, their first proper enduro motorcycle. And yes, it runs the same Desmodromic valve timing you'd expect from Borgo Panigale, making it the only bike in its class with that setup.
-- The engine has been retuned from the Desmo450 MX for enduro duty, with a smaller 42mm throttle body, revised cams, a lower compression ratio, and a heavier flywheel, all to give you that smooth, tractable power delivery that enduro actually demands. Showa and Brembo are on suspension and braking duties, with the fork developed alongside multiple enduro world champion Antoine Meo.
-- The chassis is built around an 11 part aluminium perimeter frame that weighs under 9 kg. You get a 21 inch front and 18 inch rear wheel combo, Metzeler Six Days Extreme tyres, and an 8.5 litre transparent fuel tank for range and at a glance fuel checks. With the optional Ducati Performance racing kit installed at an authorised dealer, you also get Ducati Traction Control calibrated specifically for enduro, with four levels of intervention, plus Launch Control, Engine Brake Control, and a Quickshifter. The whole setup talks to your phone via the X Link app over Wi Fi.
-- For India, the Desmo450 EDS is headed to selected dealerships in Q1 2027. Ducati has also put together an adaptive maintenance system that adjusts service intervals anywhere between 90 and 240 hours based on how hard you actually ride, so no more one size fits all service schedules.
