Today, we joined OPSEU/SEFPO locals 358, 361 and 511 - dedicated development service workers in our communities! Over 4000 workers who provide care and supports to the our vulnerable community members are either locked out or on strike throughout Ontario! The services they provide are at risk due to persistent underfunding and insufficient staffing, and these workers have had their wages stolen as a result of lack of remedy for Ford’s unconstitutional Bill 124 - they are Worth Fighting For! #NoShowSmith

Join ONDP as we explore workplace efforts to ensure the safety of survivors of intimate partner violence (IPV) and gender based violence (GBV). What can be done to support survivors when they disclose, and what challenges do workers face when seeking help on the job? Our conversation will cover what employers can and should do to support workers and how legislation can help make workplaces safer. There will be a Q&A opportunity after the panel discussion. Join us ONLINE on June 10th, 2026, at 7 PM. Sign up here to receive the Zoom link: kristyn.ca/ipv-workplace

An honour to join the inaugural class of Prevention Link’s Level 6 Occupational Disease! For far too many workers, exposure at work leads to life changing illness. When workers find themselves in this vulnerable situation, having trained advocates who can support them and help navigate the WSIB system is imperative - and this is where our WSIB courses and training are so invaluable! The wealth of knowledge from Instructors Monia and Jody, in addition to strong worker advocates from several different unions in attendance was amazing. These workers are fighting for workers everyday - and winning.

Yesterday, we joined several advocates, allies and community partners at Queens Park in recognition of the second anniversary of the province's acknowledgment of Injured Workers Day. Workers are advocating for full access to compensation and calling attention to the ongoing claims suppression. Meanwhile, the current government and WSIB continues to reward employers by allocating billions of dollars to employers in refunds instead of providing support to the workers in need.

Good to see that @PaulCalandra continues to spout his revisionist history. Relative peace my a$$, let’s talk about Bill 124 which was ruled UNCONSTITUTIONAL & Bill 28 which was repealed in record time when @osbcucscso ed workers went on illegal strike. @OFLabour
Replying to @ColinDMello
Calandra says a "hallmark of the government since 2018" has been "relative peace with teachers unions and unions representing education workers." Calandra says there has not been a "lot of disruption in the classroom with the exception of Covid" In fact - All four education unions went on strike in 2019 -- and the Ford government imposed the notwithstanding clause on CUPE education support workers in 2022 under threat of another strike. globalnews.ca/news/6433115/o…

Menstrual equity is a workers’ rights issue. No one should have to pay out of pocket, face stigma, or lose wages because their workplace ignores basic health needs. Read the full OFL statement and take action: ofl.ca/menstrual-equity-is-a… #EndPeriodPoverty

On Monday, May 25, supporters and allies of the 2SLGBTQIA community convened at the Ontario Legislature to make certain their voices are not ignored. Throughout Ontario and beyond, 2SLGBTQIA communities are encountering escalating hate, growing erasure, and reductions in healthcare, education, housing, and human rights. This gathering at Queen’s Park represents a concrete step we can all take to advocate for improvement and to demonstrate the power of our united solidarity.

President Laura Walton joined education workers from @cupelocal4222 , @cupe4186 and @Cupe7575 for their Purple Wave rally. For years, governments have underfunded our public education system, placing added pressure to education workers to make do with less while delivering the best possible outcomes for students, their families and communities. These workers showed their fight spirit in 2022 and are prepared to take to the streets again to ensure their students and schools receive the funding and services they need.

Amazing work by @cupelocal79 on Day 1 of the Toronto Workers Summit! Over 300 workers from a wide array of workplaces and job sites are coming together to discuss issues impacting workers everyday - affordability and the strained public services. @nastaran_yad and her team of elected officers and staff have brought together a program that acknowledges the expertise that workers have around these issues and provide a spaces to empower workers to come together to make change. Great to see OFL VP of Young Workers, @angel.martinez37, VP @ibewlocal353 Jeff Irons, VP @opseusefpo @j.p.hornick and VP @cupeontario @fred.hahn.cupe.o Justice for Workers

Respect costs nothing and it makes workplaces, communities, and unions stronger. Using someone’s correct pronouns is about dignity, safety, and basic respect. On #IDAHOBIT2026, and every day, we unite with trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse people. #AtTheHeartOfDemocracy
