Stock Cybertrucks crushed the trails in Tillamook Forest. Some had aftermarket wheels and tires, but Brandon, @scottbuscemi, and others factory wheels and tires with 20k miles. One spot had a 20 degree slope, 23-degree roll, and muddy trails from Friday's rain. Hard for video to do this stuff justice.

If you want to cut off SpaceX's government 'handouts', it's pretty simple. Just start putting stuff into orbit for cheaper than SpaceX does. That's it.

I love this about 1/4 as much as SpaceX does.

If you drive up and down the I5 corridor, you'll understand how nice this really is. There is decent enough coverage through this section, but the chargers are a bit over-crowded and they are all v2 and v3 chargers. Also, I like to stop at Granzella and the Olive Pit on occasion and this will hopefully free up those locations a bit more.
A massive new Supercharger is coming soon to Willows, California!! Permits have been filed for the addition of a 96-stall V4 station behind the Starbucks located directly off Interstate 5, on N Humboldt Ave. The installation will consist of 56 stalls in Phase 1, along with 2 solar canopies, a Megapack, and a prefab amenity building that will be expanded as part of Phase 2.

A good argument here for law enforcement adding a turret to their drones.
A recent incident in Spring Valley highlights the important role drones play in law enforcement when used with community safety in mind. After a man was seen setting a palm tree on fire near nearby homes, residents briefly evacuated while deputies worked quickly to locate the suspect. Our Sheriff's Unmanned Aerial Systems (UAS) team deployed a drone solely to scan the area for the individual, ultimately spotting him in a nearby riverbed and relaying that information to ground deputies and ASTREA. This coordinated response helped firefighters safely contain the flames and allowed deputies to take the suspect into custody without further risk to the community. Since launching in 2016, the UAS Program has grown to more than 60 certified pilots and over 70 aircraft, supporting missions like search and rescue, patrol responses, and emergency situations just like this one. @CHP_El_Cajon @SanMiguelFire

$60k Front and rear lockers. Mind blowingly good value.
Making sure base Triangle still is has the Cybertruck DNA Front and Rear Lockers work great! Rally Mode instead of Baja (still able to turn down ESP / adjust powertrain balance) Coil suspension is smooth & sound system is good! More important consumer relevant testing to come 💪

Shocking. Just shocking. Who would have guessed Porsche sucks at software. Oh wait… a lot of us did and were told to quit being biased.
In 20 months of ownership my parents have never received one OTA software update in their Macan EV As much as I love driving Porsche EVs, the software experience falls short of acceptability Model Year 26 supports features such as phone key etc, none of which is updatable to this car. 😕

Used Cybertruck prices continue to be strong.
After selling out a few days ago, @Tesla has just uploaded a lot more used Cybertrucks on their inventory website, but with higher average pricing. Prices now start at $72,900 for a used 2024 Foundation Series Cybertruck with 32,845 miles (vs $66,200 a few days ago for a used 2024 Foundation Series with 2,566 miles). Prices currently peak at $96,100 for a used Cyberbeast Foundation Series with 14,927 miles. There are various Foundation and non-Foundation Series trucks available, including 2024 and 2025 model year trucks. These are different used trucks than the ones from a few days ago since the milage numbers are different. Tesla will transport one to any Tesla delivery location of your choice in the continental US for up to $2,500. Keep in mind the $2,500 delivery transportation fee is an estimate and will be confirmed once an order is placed. Link to used inventory in thread below:

Bunghole of Theseus.
Someone's ancestors did this 7 days a week, 800 years ago, just for them to be born in the 21st century with a boring name like "Mike Cooper".

When people say “woodpeckers are eating my house”. Woodpeckers don’t “eat” wood. If you got a woodpecker you got bugs.

I think Scoble has this nailed. We've seen a lot of tech demos from various robotics companies and none of them—Optimus included—look ready for prime time as sellable products. Maybe we see Tesla using them in-house in limited capacity but that would be the extent of it.
Unpopular opinion with Tesla fans: I expect @Tesla_Optimus to slip into next year and maybe even 2028. Maybe even further. And I am talking about the big version 3 unveil that Elon was hyping up over the last year. Tesla execs watched Apple and Google growing up. Steve Jobs’ magic? Wait for everyone to make their plays. Think they have the market sewn up. Then fix all the problems and ship a better product. Jobs killed the phone project several times because it wasn’t good enough. I have talked to enough people who are Tesla fans that I know expectations are super high. If Elon shows a robot that isn’t generalized a lot will be lost. Ask AltaVista or Nokia how that worked out. Or MySpace. Being first doesn’t really matter. Kodak invented the digital camera. Truth is the pieces aren’t all there yet to make a great product, either inside, or outside Tesla. Even the Chinese haven’t figured it out. The world models aren’t ready yet. I won’t be shocked if @elonmusk keeps delaying it until true generalized world models are ready. Even the most aggressive I have talked to say that is at least 18 months away. Many in robotics say five years. The next time we see a new Optimus it will set in place beliefs that will last a decade. Wait until it is stunning, I say. But the factories are being built so pressure is on. We we see how much discipline Tesla has by its choices.

Photo quality on these was pretty mid too.
Typical Smith Corona Electric Typewriter around 1970 would have cost $100 or adjust for inflation $1000. In other words the cost of an I phone today, and more than the cost of many smart phones. The Z Gen's are seriously ungrateful for what they have.

FSD streak 0 miles. It got me here but making a U turn and parking was no good. It didn’t stop either… just kept rolling up the road. Only chance “Streaks” work for me is if there is a timeout of a few minutes before and after parking.

I'm struggling to see this as "Optimization". It's art—and it's awesome. But there are much better ways to make a bike.
topology optimization is pure love
