Cyerce nigricans, commonly known as the black and gold sapsucking slug, recognized by its velvet-black body and vibrant yellow-spotted, white-edged cerata. It feeds exclusively on turtle weed (Chlorodesmis fastigiata) in tropical Indo-West Pacific reefs. When threatened, this species can shed its cerata to distract predators and secretes unappetizing mucus as a defense mechanism. Unlike many related sea slugs, Cyerce nigricans does not retain chloroplasts from its diet for photosynthesis.

This bothers me so much. Why is bintalshamsa who is living in her comfortable apartment in the US without risk of bombs dropping on her head speaking in this way to a father in Gaza living in a tent with poor internet connection who just saw his cousin being shot in the head? Why is she centering herself like she is the only victim in the world? What kind of performative activism is this? Why is she demanding in an entitled way when she has more followers & more reach than Basheer who is barely trying to survive?

Appreciate the finding that before the rise of vertebrates, the world was dominated for millions of years by giant, several-meter long scorpions. Very Lovecraftian, "antediluvian horrors" vibe. Would've been disappointing if the primordial Earth was ruled by wide-eyed fuzzballs.

Aside from socialization I think a lot of this sentiment is from people who failed to develop hobbies outside of watching reels. The last time they were forced to exercise or engage with art or learn was in school.

Gen Z realizing one of the biggest shocks after college is that life no longer happens around you.
In school, friends, events, relationships, and opportunities are built into your environment.
As an adult, if you don't actively create a social life, weeks can turn into months surprisingly fast.
