Comedian Kaytlin Bailey talks about sex work and old pros in 'The Oldest Profession'
For more than a decade, comedian
@KaytlinBailey was a regular at New York comedy spots like The Stand, The Creek and the Cave and New York Comedy Club, where she hung out with Kurt Metzger, Doug Stanhope and others.
She also had a couple of stints doing sex work, including some “sugaring,” she says.
“It’s a new term for a very old thing,” Bailey says. “It’s having a patron, being paid by month instead of being paid by the hour.”
How did she like the clients?
“I was asked to put up with more shit as a barista,” she says.

@oldprosonline a blend of comedy, sex worker history and personal perspective. It runs May 1-2 in New Orleans at The Actor’s Apothecary.
The show includes a “mad-dash through sex worker history,” from the first exchanges of goods for sex to the current fixation on criminalization.
