1/ This is what a real answer to "how is my kid doing in reading?" looks like. Not "she's doing fine." Not "a little behind." A specific point on a 12-point scale, plus the exact skills to work on next. Free, 10 minutes, no login. Here's the story πŸ‘‡

More AI reading apps than ever in 2026. All position the tech as the teacher. The research says otherwise: 1:1 instruction from a trusted adult beats every other model. 4 ESSA Tier 3 studies, 1 completed Tier 2. Same answer every time. Other apps babysit. We build readers.

Every other reading app is selling the "best AI tutor." We make you a world-class teacher for your kid. The research is clear: the most effective early reading instruction is one-on-one, in-person, with a trusted adult. So we built that.

Every reading app on the market is racing to replace you as the teacher. Once is betting on the opposite. 15 minutes. A script. You and your kid. You're not the obstacle. You're the whole point.

What they say: "I don't want to read." What we hear: "I don't like being bad at reading." Teach your child to read. Not just for professional success, but because reading books is fun.
I don’t think this means the sky is falling, but I do think it’s a clarion call for parents and teachers to consider what we’re robbing children of by dismissing the importance of reading for fun. Being able to sit alone and get lost in a book as a child is a wonderful and magical thing. It sparks the imagination like nothing else. We need to put down the phones, turn off the devices, and make physical books an integral part of our everyday lives again.

The research is clear. AI completing the task β‰  the child learning. Once puts the cognitive work where it belongs, with your kid, guided by you. Fully scripted. No teaching background needed. tryonce.com/at-home
Not all screen time is equal! AI helped students complete tasks faster. Less stress. Better output metrics. But when tested independently, no deeper learning. "AI makes the task easier without making the learner more capable." The central problem with most edtech right now. 🧡

You know we agree! Kids can start learning to read at age 3. Imagine the joy of reading and learning before kindergarten starts! That foundation is what instills a lifelong love of reading books.
Reading and learning are still the highest ROI activity I know. Nothing else comes close.

The people who know the most about child development aren't waiting. Teachers use it with their kids. Principals use it with their kids. Pediatricians use it with their kids. Ed-tech PMs use it with their kids. Use it with your kids.
A literacy specialist wouldn't use a reading app that didn't work. She uses Once at Home. We think you should, too. It's free until your child reads their first 3-letter word.

1 in 3 American kids can't read proficiently by 4th grade. The window to change that starts way earlier than most parents think. 10 minutes a day from age 3–5 makes an enormous difference.

Pleasure reading fell 40% in 20 years. Only 14% of 13-year-olds read for fun daily. The @nypl's Chief Librarian @bbannon says the problem isn't individuals β€” it's that we stopped designing conditions for reading. We agree. And it starts at age 3.

The foundation for a reading life is built between ages 3–7: letter sounds, decoding, fluency, and comprehension. Get that right and kids don't just learn to read. They want to read.

We asked a kid what his favorite part about reading is. His answer broke us. 😭 (πŸ”Š on) This is what Once at Home is built for. Not flashcards. Not drills. Just 15 joyful minutes a day that make kids feel like THIS about books. Every great story begins with Once.

9 in 10 parents think their child is at or above grade level in reading. Actual proficiency: 30%. The gap isn't apathy. It's information. Parents aren't getting clear answers. A free 10-min check tells you where they are. tryonce.com/reading-check

Every good story begins with Once.
In January, this kindergartener knew 1 letter sound. 5 months of tutoring. Just 15 min/day. Yesterday, he finished reading on grade level, ready for 1st grade. He grew ~2x a full year's expected progress. I followed the @once_reading script and cheered. He did the work. πŸ“š
