We need action now to protect our cultural sector and the people who work in it. ACTION: replenish the @ace_national CRF Emergency Response Fund, and allow freelancers to access it with evidence of cancelled contracts. @NadineDorries @DCMS

Another difficult day for friends & colleagues in theatre. I’m sad that so many are now facing further uncertainties & additional anxieties after a tremendously difficult 15 months. I feel for those now rethinking plans, or simply wondering how they survive this. Brutal.

A brilliant second evidence session for @ProspectUnion @CommunityUnion @fsb_policy enquiry into the future of self-employment. Thanks to @ExcludedUK, @ForgottenLtd, @onevoicecmpgn & @ForgottenPAYE for sharing their thoughts & experiences.
Yesterday, I sat as a Commissioner on the @ProspectUnion and @CommunityUnion self-employment support inquiry this afternoon. So many people have been overlooked and ignored by the Chancellor - in all sectors and in all parts of the UK

2. Q: Can arts venues open for rehearsals and to stream performances? A: Yes. Arts venues are places of work, so people can come into them for work, if it cannot be undertaken from home. This includes rehearsals and performance. Audiences are not permitted.

We’re only allowed to sell 1/3 of our seats right now, so today we’re launching #SeatOuttoHelpOut. Help us by donating to keep an empty seat warm – for a night, a week, a month, or even until we fully reopen! More here: bristololdvic.org.uk/seatout… 🪑

It’s good news for venues, organisation and institutions – but it’s not putting the workforce back to work or money in their pockets. MU General Secretary Horace Trubridge spoke to @NME about the Culture Recovery Fund, #SEISS and why #MusicDeservesBetter nme.com/news/music/musicians…

Culture Secretary Oliver Dowden suggests theatres could be given a 'not before date' for reopening of March/April. He says the announcement of such a date will come at least three months prior to give venues time to prepare.
