The Hytale soundtrack is out now! Vol. 1 consists of mainly zone 1 music and vol. 2 is all the rest. I've tried to set up the order of the music meticulously to create a good listening cadence, to reflect how ab adventure might play out, and made sure each song transitions well.

I will also talk more about how this system fits into the overall "World Scripting" extension of our upcoming Visual Scripting. Hypixel started with adventure maps and we want to provide the tools to bring unprecedented levels of adventure to Hytale.

ICYMI: Hytale’s Update 5 is out! We want to shine a spotlight on our new Trigger Volume Tool which allows you to place persistent 3D volumes that trigger configurable effects when conditions are met. Think of these 3D volumes as tripwires that are completely invisible to the player. However, when something happens inside of it (a player walks into it, a creature walks out, a block is placed, an arrow is shot, etc.) it will react by running a desired effect. Here’s a compilation from our Level Designers demonstrating what's possible with this tool. Not a single line of code was written to do this. 100% UI based scripting! 🤯

Having a good time at @BitSummit here in Kyoto. Last day today, was fun, played lots of games and talked to lots of people and made new friends! Today I went with my Japanese localisation friend (nicholasjlocke.xyz) who gave free consultations at every booth 😂

Today I visited BitSummit, an indie games convention in Kyoto, Japan, where indie game developers come from all over the world to showcase their stuff. Was happy to meet a handful of Hytale fans there too! We seem to have a good presence in Japan 😄 #BitSummit

Update 5 release lands Tuesday, May 26. Two weeks out, and more is still landing between now and then! A new Community Server Discovery is in. The friends list makes its first appearance on release. Controllers are in too (first iteration, more polish coming). There are new emotes, Trigger Volumes for no-code scripted encounters, prefab 3D previews, and a lot more across creator tools, audio, and QoL. Starting with Update 5, we're adding launcher version selection. Update 4 stays available for a few months, so modders and servers have runway to adapt beyond launch day. Full pre-release patch notes for everything that's landed so far (more to come!): hytale.com/news/2026/4/hytal… Modders and server operators: read the Modders Warning section at the bottom of those patch notes. That's your migration map. A new Semver mod compatibility model is on the way too. With Update 5 wrapping up, we're moving more and more developers onto content. We're also hiring aggressively, and the team is now entering full production on Chapters and major features that will reshape the game's future. Job postings go live this week!
