The World Cup Hydration scandal is just business as usual: 1) The US not getting/respecting soccer 2) FIFA whores agreeing to any corrupt deal

Artifact of AI dev: when the model writes `foo(&x)`, I manually fix that to `foo(x)` (the function taking &x was recently deprecated) but now the AI reviews my change and warns that the code is wrong and won't compile. Because training data has only the now-deprecated function.

This is one of those decisions that I actually thought was not only the right call, but that a lot of Biden critics were completely unprepared for what was coming with Trump 2.0. Anyone who sees what's happening now and thinks it was a bad call is unserious to say the least.
Hunter Biden acknowledged in an interview that his father’s presidential pardon of him tarnished his reputation as commander in chief and demonstrated that “he chose me over his legacy.” nbcnews.com/politics/joe-bid…

Our media tech can be so good and at the same time, so infuriating. Because you don't have a product anymore, you have "platforms" with a big mix of features provided by different companies, subscriptions, user interfaces etc. and there's no way this can be a seamless UX. 🧵

Each app's login done once, main UI grabs that token and uses it when you pick content from the app. Single user profile for history & prefs. Single playback UI with options like choosing audio streams, subtitles etc.; apps could contrib extra widgets to the same core UI.

Apps could even provide their own decoder/DRM or major functionality such as interactive content (eg games) and how to serve advertising for those that are ad-supported. None of this requires taking over the whole UI, only needs good plugin interfaces.🔚

This is genuinely interesting. With the big grain of salt that it's not shipping yet, no idea what will be the quality compared to DLSS/FSR... Arm joins the core game neural rendering fight, not just competing but outright commoditizing this stuff. 🧵
Arm shows off its answer to DLSS on Android - and a whole-ass game by Sumo Digital with Unreal Engine 5 MegaLights. digitalfoundry.net/news/2026…

Well, that's hard because part of the moat is the user experience. (See also: Apple.) I'm not interested in a great AI SR/FG/RR if that means random variations across games, dealing with mods, etc. It has to "just work" everywhere with consistent quality and UX.

But Arm has nothing to lose, and the gaming market is different in many ways. Priority is getting AAA games running & looking great on these devices, and the public is not game-tech nitpickers. Plus it's Arm's way of doing things: have the core tech, let partners customize. 🔚
