Breaking: The Michigan Supreme rules 5-2 that the state's civil rights law prohibits discrimination on the basis of sexual orientation. The majority says the ban on sex discrimination includes sexual orientation, rules in favor of same-sex couple that was denied wedding services.

@kroger @MI_Kroger @KrogerNews @KrogerWorks @krogerco This is your Hazel Park (MI) store at 7:20pm on a weeknight. This is 27 people in line for 5 working self-scans. There is only 1 cashier running 1 full lane, also with a line this long. This is EVERY DAY.

I'll drive to the Meijer a couple miles away for the foreseeable future-- because when THAT store (8 Mile & Woodward) developed impossibly long checkout lines as a new daily reality, they completely overhauled their checklane area. That line used to be 25 people deep; now it's 3.

@kroger @MI_Kroger @krogerco @KrogerNews @KrogerWorks Just making sure you-- and your recruits, and local newsrooms in your footprint-- see how you treat your customers and employees in low-income, racial-minority neighborhoods. The wealthy white stores don't have this problem.

@kroger @MI_Kroger It is dinner time on a weeknight, and your Hazel Park store has ONE CHECKOUT and HALF of the self-scans open, and lines for both reaching 3/4 of the way to the back wall. STAFF YOUR STORE. This is a *constant* problem at this location.

I just spoke to the self-check cashier (she's doing a great job, btw), who explained the entire store only has 7 cashiers on the entire staff, and only 4 are scheduled for the entire 6am-midnight day. YOU RUN THIS STORE ON TWO CASHIERS ALL DAY EVERY DAY. GOOD FUCKING GOD.
