Congrats @AlboMP But "I hope there are families tonight in public housing... there are opportunities for all" That would be great if there's even close to enough social housing. Please, you can fix that quickly. But first, #hometoBilo. #BuildSocialHousing #HousingCrisis #Auspol

I've actually been worried about it for weeks. x.com/out/status/15221351925…

3 weeks until the election & it's striking that I've yet to see a single policy on Covid management. Where are the policies? How it will affect Medicare, housing, healthcare, and Centrelink? What's the plan? Why is noone in media asking the question? #auspol #COVID19 #LongCovid

Actually, it's women over 55, and is concerning since many people don't retire at 55 (and especially not women who are known to be inadequately funded in "retirement"). Source: ABS aihw.gov.au/reports/australi… #HousingCrisis @vanbadham

For all their avowed interest in disparities, white influencers ignore structural racism. This is strategic. Racism, as a social ill, is at odds with the “personal responsibility” that allows the white influencer solutions without sacrifice. Take, for example, @drlucymcbride. 🧵

Here's the absolute pièce de résistance: Derek Weatherley has raised a whopping $2195 of a $5k goal. Mr Weatherley is the CEO of none other than Indue Ltd. Indue as in "the Indue card". As in compulsory income management for welfare recipients - dehumanising, restrictive, inhuman

If I was in @AlboMP’s media team, after this week’s behaviour from the media, I would set up daily community forums for him to speak at across the country. He would take and answers questions from community members. Journos can attend but wouldn’t get to ask any questions.

The ABS criteria for homelessness If the living arrangement is: - in a dwelling that is inadequate; - has no tenure, or if their initial tenure is short and not extendable; or - does not allow for space for social relations #BuildSocialHousing #HousingCrisis

Following on from @Joey_KinginWA & @fairy_godslut on the #CEOsleepout Homelessness is FAR more pervasive than people realise. It includes the roofless, & also those in uncertain tenancies, who endure stress & expense of moving every few months ABS Source aihw.gov.au/reports/australi…

I'm sure this thread is unfinished, but I'm getting in early, because I'm sure this is going to be filled with *shocking* revelations. #CEOsleepout #BTPM #BuildSocialHousing #HousingCrisis
Every year I see the Vinny's @CEOSleepout happen and every year I get so angry that these rich comfortable people think they're helping by cosplaying homelessness (not even accurately, in their $450 north face jackets) so I decided today to have a little look at who they are:

What concerns me about this tactic is that, but for a small ‘authorised by’ statement on the poster, they’d be completely legal. We need to amend our political advertising laws to make these ads illegal.
I know the @AusElectoralCom is investigating but this is the type of tactic you need to resort to when you can’t stand on your track record or have a vision for the future. It’s also why I support @zalisteggall’s Stop the Lies Bill to outlaw lying in political advertising #auspol

I am looking for a place to rent around #Fremantle area with 3 bedrooms. If you know someone with an empty place that needs work - let me know, happy to exchange labour for rent. Would also work on a large shed to convert to an ancillary dwelling (with approvals etc) #housing

2 bed sleepout is also ok. High up on the wishlist is that it is within the JCCA catchment, but not essential. I know there are some properties pending development approvals etc - a short 3 month lease might also work if the price is right. #HousingCrisis

Another option might be if someone wanted to downsize into a smaller dwelling on their own property - I'd be happy to help with that kind of project too.
