You are replaceable at work, but you are NOT replaceable at home. A beautiful and poignant reflection that applies to all clinicians.

If there was one article you want to read as a clinician? Read this Via @jenna_taglienti - an absolutely stunning write in @JAMA_current "Medicine can have extraordinary meaning. But it cannot substitute for being present in your own life. The world may need us as physicians. But the people who love us need us as ourselves. And that is the role no one else can fill." Brilliant - and much love to you 'Time is Finite" jamanetwork.com/journals/jam…

There's an Icelandic tradition called Jólabókaflóð, where books are exchanged as Christmas Eve presents, and the rest of the night is spent reading them and drinking hot chocolate.

After rewatching Home Alone, I couldn’t stop wondering: how plausible is the oversleep that leaves Kevin behind? So I wrote a tiny paper and ran the numbers. Merry Christmas! 🎄

Did you know? In 1958, NORAD accidentally created the tradition of tracking Santa Claus. A Sears department store printed a Christmas ad telling kids to call Santa—but the phone number had a typo and rang directly to the U.S. military’s top command center. Instead of hanging up, the officer on duty told the child Santa was on his way. That one kind response turned into an annual tradition where NORAD now uses satellites, radar, and fighter jets to “track” Santa’s journey around the world every Christmas Eve.
