Pay-for-Slay will continue this week; Abbasâ lie reconfirmed
The mask is now completely off. Mahmoud Abbas himself has confirmed that he lied to Western leaders repeatedly when he claimed to have stopped Pay-for-Slay.
Abbasâ new trusted emissary to terroristsâ families, the notorious released terrorist prisoner Zakariya Zubeidi, met with striking terroristsâ families, to convey Abbasâ promise that payments for terrorists and their families, at a minimum of 1400 shekels/ month, will continue this week.
Palestinian Media Watch can report that this was confirmed by three trusted Palestinian sources, Maan, and two reliable social media platforms.
After meeting Abbas, convicted terrorist Zubeidi, who was released in exchange for kidnapped Israeli hostages in 2025, went straight to the families to relay Abbasâ promise:
ââThere are clear and explicit instructions from President Mahmoud Abbas to begin payment immediately after the end of the holiday breakâ⊠Zubeidi described the issue of the Martyrs and wounded as âthe most noble phenomenon known to the Palestinian people and liberation movements worldwide,â noting that the suffocating financial distress experienced by the Palestinian Authority has affected all governmental sectors.â [Maâan May 31, 2026]
There are 37,000 recipients of Pay-for-Slay in these two terrorist groups.
Abbas lied to Western leaders last year that the PA stopped rewarding terrorists in September 2025, to have some Western countries recognize a Palestinian state. Even though PMW has proved repeatedly that the PA continues to reward terrorists, the states have not yet frozen or removed their recognition.
