On top of tariffs and HR1 threatening healthcare and food security, the administration is now proposing drastic funding changes at HUD. These cuts would strip critical resources from supportive services and building affordable homes, causing more homelessness.
President Trump says he ‘“doesn’t want to hear about affordability,” but I do. Thank you to the community leaders and nonprofits who joined me for a roundtable discussion on the affordability crisis as families struggle to afford groceries and other bills this Thanksgiving.

With a 4% drop in homelessness & unsheltered homelessness down 9.5%, this year’s Homeless Count is trending downward in Los Angeles County. While this trend is encouraging, challenges remain. Continued focus on collaboration, prevention, & housing is required for more progress.
