Very proud to be involved with this project!
We assembled the genome of an individual from Saudi Arabia and make the assembly and sequencing data freely available; the genome is almost complete (compared to CHM13) and fully annotated; great collaboration with @MalakAbed @kaust_corelabs @CBRC_KAUST biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

The genome sequence of the Australian filarial nematode, Cercopithifilaria.... McCann K et al., published by @WellcomeOpenRes, wellcomeopenresearch.org/art… A nice outcome from a side project, a long long time ago in the @lab_grant at @PAM_latrobe . Very happy for @Kirsty_m_McCann 🙌

Excited to see our paper out, and much improved from the pre-print version - we find that the “real job” of AmvA, a disinfectant resistance efflux pump from A. baumannii, is transport of polyamine metabolites. nature.com/articles/s42003-0…

Less than one week left (closes 19th September) to apply for the postdoctoral researcher position in my group to develop and lead single-cell genomics for helminth parasites. Will suit someone with good molecular biology skills with an interest in bioinformatics.
I am excited to announce I am looking for a postdoctoral fellow to develop and lead single-cell genomics on helminth parasites for the next 3 yrs. Will be a combination of wet and dry lab. Please RT and share! jobs.sanger.ac.uk/vacancy/po…

Amazing work. A hugely improved version of the Schistosoma mansoni genome!
Now on biorxiv: biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/… A huge effort that started in 2014. The genome came a long way in the past 3 yrs and I want to thank all my co-authors for their huge contributions. @sangerinstitute @parasitegenomes @WBParaSite

can you imagine having been awarded a highly competitive grant to carry out a project you've been dreaming of doing for 10 years on a major global pathogen that still kills hundreds of thousands every year. and then halfway through -- #UKRIcuts #ODAcuts #GCRF #gcrfcuts 1/n
