Shopify devs with BFS: does this effectively mean you don't promote new things in the app outside of built in cards / components? I have a helpscout beacon message telling people about a new feature - the most common way I tell users about new things; but BFS review says no

The Shopify dev dashboard is so unintuitive. Before I was able to type a store name into the global search on Partners and see status / login in 2 clicks. Now requires: open dev dash > go to Stores page > click dev stores > click tiny search button > type store > click store name

@eytanseidman I appreciate your responsiveness and communication here, but this is so hard to use. I'd be happy to show my workflow some time. Just makes me actively angry trying to access merchant stores right now. Used to take < 3 seconds from anywhere in my pinned Partners tab

I reached out to them and they said Shopify said it was okay: "In this case, Shopify approved the use of this wording"
Shopify app devs: is it allowed for a competitor to put my (trademark pending) app name in their app title? eg. this one has Recipe Kit in their app title

This is why this new influx of apps is going to bring down the quality/bar of the whole ecosystem. When merchants can no longer trust that an app: A) works and B) reviews are actually legit⦠they rightfully should start looking elsewhere.

1. Lists as a Free app but when you install they push a paid plan.
2. Asks to contact them in order to remove branding from app. Emails you asking for a 5 star review.
3. Shows a popup asking for a 5-star review in exchange for removing branding
Breaking Shopify's terms is how they capture so many reivews

Today's edition of AI slop Shopify apps copying Recipe Kit, I present Alchemy Recipes. I genuinely don't know how these pass the review process, the app is almost unusable. It even has a dev note for changing .env server variables on the Settings page lol.

These guys aren't that bad, they just used my copy from app listing images mostly; but I still think the bar of quality of these new apps is so so low.

You've stolen exact layout and structure of multiple Recipe Kit pages, including my demo placeholder input fields in the recipe creation form lol (Chef John Smith). I welcome the competition but you should put more creative effort into it. Welcome to the space either way.

The new iteration of Shopify apps are going to be mostly AI slop and copycats, and this *will* negatively impact the app store and the trust merchants have in the ecosystem and the app store - a trust that Shopify and partners have built up over the past decade.

Shopify's metaobject translation system will be the death of me. I've been working on migrating Recipe Kit's metafields to metaobjects for translation (ONLY for translation) and it's been months of banging my head against the wall.

If @ShopifyDevs is going all in on the dev dashboard for partners, can we PLEASE get some API route for sending collaborator account requests to merchants with our app installed? Programmatic access to check if we have access / if not, send request would save my CS team hours.

this app also does the sneaky 'hide feature behind support interaction' to get reviews. the shopify app store ecosystem just doesn't make sense to me at the moment. who do i contact?
