RFK Jr. went on national TV and spouted egregious, dangerous falsehoods about vaccines. As a parent and infectious diseases doctor, I couldn't stay silent. @FoxNews might not fact-check him, but I will. I've reviewed the trials. I've catalogued them. I have receipts. 🧵

A message from PanCAN's President & CEO, @JulieFleshman, JD, MBA: Today, the Trump administration released its FY26 budget, proposing a $17.5 billion or 37% cut to the National Institutes of Health, which includes the National Cancer Institute. At a time when pancreatic cancer is at a pivotal point for research and treatment breakthroughs, these cuts halt researchers’ work and, more importantly, progress for patients and families. Read my letter to Congress demanding that cancer research be protected and increased – because patients can’t afford to wait: pcan.at/b340vd Thank you for being part of this powerful community. Together, we will demand more, do more, deliver more, for every individual touched by this disease today and all those who will face it tomorrow.

.@mcuban More recent data shows NIH-funded research contributed to 354 of 356 drugs (99.4%) approved from 2010–2019. Public funding is indispensable to the health and betterment of the American people—we must do a better job communicating this.

Sad to learn that the #PancreaticCancer research program (PCARP) will receive no funds in the current FY. 😢 I served as program review chair for 3y & we really tried to fund areas that are of pivotal importance to patients (like cancer cachexia research) but underfunded at NCI.
The @CDMRP #PancreaticCancer Research Program is an important funding mechanism for innovative grants in pancreatic cancer, including "partnered PI" awards between a senior and early career investigators. Congratulations to all the awardees this year!

One of the challenging emotions we experience is after the loss of a loved one. Mason was a tremendous athlete that had a larger-than-life personality. He would light up any room he was in. We love and miss you! Our thoughts and prayers are with Mason's family.

Today, the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network (PanCAN) signed on to a statement from One Voice Against Cancer (OVAC), a collaboration of national non-profit organizations representing millions of Americans, delivering a unified message to Congress and the White House on the need for increased cancer-related appropriations. The statement unites the cancer community in opposing recent executive actions and calling on both the Administration and members of Congress to work together to ensure that we continue to advance progress against pancreatic cancer and all other cancers.
