How does Spencer 'portray herself' as struggling and working class @MJGoodwin? Its well documented in the media that you have lied about being 'working class', when you are very much an ivory tower academic. Projecting much? thetimes.com/uk/politics/art…
The Green candidate in Gorton & Denton Hannah Spencer who portrays herself as a struggling working-class plumber actually has TWO homes in affluent parts of Manchester, flies around the world & drives petrol cars while implying the rest of us don’t work! mol.im/a/15574637

A dapper wintering Bluetail at Wendling Beck continues to show on & off today. Bird on private land & owners are keen for birders to be help not hinderance to the community. Therefore, I've been asked to organise a donation pot for St Mary's Church upkeep. ko-fi.com/simonleomitchell

Incredible a'noon at Caister. First a Pallas's flitting through in a huge tit flock. Then another glimpsed warbler, silent & elusive. After a heard only bird at Thornham y'day I wondered if I just hallucinate Hume's Warblers. Till it popped up calling. And a Dusky calling too!

This bird was truly remarkable in how quiet & elusive it was, had a favoured small sycamore it was sharing with a couple of Chiffs and trio of Goldcrests, but away from the tree it wholly disappeared despite seemingly limited cover. How many are tucked away in other corners?

Yomping the Norfolk coast. Blackbirds everywhere; 'tseeping' from under every hedge. Woodcocks errupting at my feet. A Short-eared Owl winging in over brown waves at Cart Gap. Then in the gathering gloom a glowing rump and seven illuminated stripes. What late autumn is all about.

This is completely unacceptable. Rubbish as deep as 20 ft and 500 ft long dumped into the River Cherwell in Oxfordshire. I’ve never seen a disgusting sight like this in England before. A first world country should never look like this.

Flag sha*ging patriots are now bullying and intimidating elderly residents who don’t want Union Jacks raised outside their houses.

Spare a thought for those who found the first UK record for over 12 years, only for it to become commoner than Rustic Bunting within another 10! 🥲
Something going on with Black-faced Bunting? Remarkably three in the country today…

Very happy to find this Pallid Swift at Cromer today - a typical chameleon in different light conditions. Also marks my most-wanted birding milestone - my 300th species self-found in Britain and Ireland! Gradually switching to bsky.app/profile/perilsofbir…

After 25 miles walked in better conditions in Norfolk this month it felt ironic when I lifted my bins for on a family outing at Happisburgh to see this lovely 1w Isabelline (Daurian) Shrike 20m from the carpark. NB last find I will post to 'X' now at @perilsofbirding.bsky.social

Didnt expect my (long overdue), self found Glossy Ibis to be a flock of 22 which took off from a hidden ditch at Buckenham! Terrible phone photo as they headed SSE over the Yare

A year has passed, and life is still on hold. On this day a year ago, Iman and Layan were playing in front of our tent. Today, the same scene repeats itself, but in a new place of displacement, a new tent, and with the same lack of basic needs. A year goes by, and the theft of childhood continues. gofund.me/b7fa0a9a

NEW -- We obtained Tzipi Hotovely's diary. It reveals how pro-Israel lobbyists, Labour party donors and businessmen have been meeting with the Israeli ambassador in London throughout the Gaza genocide. My latest with @alex_macondo in @declassifiedUK: declassifieduk.org/revealed-…

You actively chose to fire as many scientists working for the federal government as possible and have even taken weather balloons out of the sky. These were people who dedicated their lives to this stuff and you fired them so you could do tax cuts. You do not now get to complain that weather forecasts are off. Please go find these girls and rehire these scientists.

Water company lobbyists tried to get away with over-inflating the cost of public ownership. Listen to @ewan_mg explain why it could, in fact, be close to £0.

I’m supporting this.
EXCLUSIVE: 45 MPs have shown support for Jeremy Corbyn's Gaza Inquiry Bill, which calls for an independent investigation into Britain's complicity in Israel's war crimes in Gaza.

This letter, in today’s Times, stopped me in my tracks. The assisted dying Bill will affect all of society, in ways that have barely been considered.

Folks like Joe are part of the real reason you don’t own a home. Part of ‘techno-optimism’ is religious-like adherence to idea perpetual growth can be squeezed from a finite earth. That squeeze includes ‘innovations’ like using housing as a commodity for investors to speculate on

Ever had a birding fever dream where you just keep finding Hoopoes? Thats what Thursday felt to me. Early morning at Toe Head, Co. Cork there were an incredible 6 on various lawns, then another near Baltimore. Arriving on Cape Clear I had an astounding 8 within three hours!
