Multi-Neuromodulatory fingerprints of an adaptive cognitive state: Cognitive engagement was predicted by joint GABA & ACh/Choline in PFC; by Dopamine & Cholinergic changes in striatum. Glutamate & ACh correlated across states. Kudos to team Dr Pawliszyn biorxiv.org/content/10.64898…

🌟 Cai Lab @Nature paper alert! In new work led by @mysteriousjoe_, we find that rest periods after learning not only stabilize new memories BUT ALSO integrate new memories with older ones from days past! (1/9) Read it here: nature.com/articles/s41586-0…

I am and have been fascinated with how memories are formed and stored. A big challenge, not unique to memory, is synthesizing concepts across scales of anaylsis - from molecules to computation. Here I try to distill how we can move forward in understanding memories. Thanks /1

3/3 c) Pay attention to spike sorter versions! Critics deemed our data "low quality" b/c neuron yields were lower than other studies. We dug deep. Turns out difference was due to use of different spike sorting versions. 🤯Paper now submitted to @eLife. biorxiv.org/content/10.1101/…

This is the first large-animal paper using all DBC deep array probes, but won’t be the last. If you’re into high density sampling (eg #neuropixels, scrolls, etc), and are considering good options for deep/indwelling/wireless/linear recordings, feel free to reach out!
Cell Press published the research from @perpl_lab where Sam Abbaspoor and Kari Hoffman utilized the DBC Deep Array to uncover the macaque hippocampus's unique circuit dynamics govern navigation, memory, and social behaviors across species. hubs.ly/Q02H7G2d0 #DBCInside
