He used our money to bomb them then used our money again to help them rebuild. All we got was high gas prices.

War is not a fucking real estate deal.

By not taking out the Islamic regime in Iran Trump has guaranteed a nuclear war in the Middle East, probably within five years.

Trump has LOST the Iran war. We'll see how many Iranians the regime snuffs as a result.

No screaming. No fires. No broken glass. No threats, or machetes, or chants of “Allahu Akbar.” Just well-mannered, civilized Brits working to save their country from barbarism.

Linguistic prescription is authoritarian. It’s one of the things trans activists have used, with enormous success. Seeking to control what people are allowed to say is a hallmark of cults and totalitarian regimes. I do not subscribe to the post modern ideas that changing language changes reality, that redefining something alters its nature, that our conception of a thing is of more importance than observable facts about the thing itself. To me, this kind of thinking is a dead end full of people pontificating and obfuscating, enjoying the sounds of their own voices while the world burns outside. Some gender critical people seem to think that demanding we all use correct sex pronouns will return the world to sanity. This is an attempt to make the tail wag the dog. You cannot fight linguistic prescription with more linguistic prescription, and no rights campaign can succeed if its adherents are more interested in creating a purity spiral than allowing the smallest space for nuance or for the complexities of human nature and feelings.

Hayek: “The intellectual has very strongly this feeling that what is not comprehensible must be nonsense.” “He defines the rational almost as intelligible. Anything which is not intelligible to him is automatically irrational and he is opposed to it.”

Hayek on Marxism vs economic reality: “Marxists can never understand the functioning of the market. They believe it’s the costs which determine prices.” “The truth is exactly the opposite: it’s prices which tell people how much cost they ought to involve. It is prices by which the knowledge of millions of people can be conveyed to others and serve as a guide to them.”

Jordan Peterson explains Hayek’s “knowledge problem” argument “The proposition that central planning will work is the proposition that you can substitute one expert mind for a million distributed expert minds.” “That’s obviously not the case, because each person is going to have knowledge that pertains to their locality that isn’t accessible to everyone. So it’s much better to let everyone make the decisions and sum them.”

I think it would be good for everyone involved if the US left NATO. I don't think it's been helpful for Europe to be treated like children; now they act like children. Still, we should use it as leverage to get Russia to leave Ukraine. "Leave Ukraine never to return and the United States will exit NATO."

Targeting Iran's infrastructure will be the worst strategic mistake ever. The mullahs don't give a shit whether the people have electricity--but the people do.

If you are a non-elected member of the US federal government (i.e., civilian GS employee, career SES, contractor, military) and you are “resisting” or “slow-rolling” lawful initiatives of the Trump Administration, let me tell you what you are actually doing. You are not “resisting” Trump. You are not “resisting” Cabinet secretaries (Pete Hegseth, e.g.) You are not “resisting” a policy you find politically unpalatable. NO. You are not “resisting” any of that. Instead, you are resisting THE CONSTITUTIONAL WILL OF THE AMERICAN PEOPLE EXPRESSED VIA THEIR ELECTORAL CHOICES. You claim to value democracy, yet you resist democracy. You claim to value institutions and standards, yet you resist those institutions and standards when the American people chose a path you disagree with. HOW DARE YOU? How dare you place your own ego over the will of THE PEOPLE? (You know, those big letters at the top of the Constitution?) Who, exactly, do you think you are? THE PEOPLE are the sovereign in this nation, you are not. If you cannot accept this and gladly internalize it, you should resign or be fired. (This also goes for four-star generals and admirals.)

So I could use some advice. A couple of weeks ago I commented on a post about Khameini's son being named the new Ayatollah in Iran. Due to his reputation of being a psychopath, I expressed regret that previous Isreali air strikes hadn't finished him as had been speculated in the press at the time, and compared him to Uday and Qusay Hussein. X's algorithm immediately (two seconds) flagged my comment as some kind of threat to someone in violation of their rules. This is the second time that the X algorithm flagged an innocuous comment of mine as some kind of threatening statement. I appealed the accusation but of course the same algorithm that flagged my comment in the first place upheld itself. X essentially made my paid account useless to me for a week or two based on this. If any actual human being had ever seen this comment they would have immediately concluded that it wasn't threatening because it wasn't. But we never get this with X. We only get the judgement of its shitty algorithm which then results as "strikes" against us to be compounded upon when our next "violation" occurs. I'm not sure what to do other than quit wasting my time with "free speech" on X.
