HW3 FSD Refund Lawsuit Update – S. Korea
Since late 2024, around 100 Tesla owners in Korea have been suing Tesla for refunds on the FSD option. Many HW3 owners paid between KRW 4M and 10M but have been unable to use the promised FSD features due to hardware limitations and regulatory delays.
Key Timeline So Far:
Dec 2024: Lawsuit filed.
2025: Initial hearings.
March & May 2026: Multiple court sessions (where the court directly questioned Tesla).
June 4, 2026: Tesla Korea requested to postpone the July 14 hearing until after October, claiming they needed to see the results of another related FSD case first.
Plaintiffs strongly opposed the delay. They argued that the cases are separate, that Tesla has failed to answer the court’s questions from May, and that the company had promised a detailed rebuttal last month but never delivered it.
The court rejected Tesla’s postponement request.
Next hearing:
July 14, 2026 (unchanged).
Plaintiffs stated they will prepare their arguments independently.
Prediction:
With FSD (Supervised) now rolling out in Korea, a settlement before or shortly after the July hearing looks increasingly likely. This case could become a major milestone for how legal disputes regarding FSD on HW3 vehicles are handled globally.
