Luxon admits in parliament that it was a staffer (but didn't enclose whether it was a public servant or a ministerial minister) who isn't working in his office anymore
Luxon thinks of himself as the CEO of New Zealand, and that's a real problem.
"When Christopher Luxon told Tova O’Brien on Breakfast this morning, “My job is the CEO,” it wasn’t just a slip of the tongue. It was a window into how he thinks leadership works. Tova’s immediate pushback, “Your job is the Prime Minister”, cut right to the heart of the problem we’re seeing in NZ’s environmental and social politics today." - @GreenpeaceNZ#nzpol
No wonder Rail Minister Peters is trying to divert everyone back five years onto Covid issues.
The ferry ‘savings’ aren’t so real thepost.co.nz/politics/36096…
Kristi Noem, head of ICE and not a nice person, now accessory to murder after the violent shooting by her paid thug of a beautiful young woman in Minneapolis today. Seen here with a top fan and admirer.
Rail Minister Peters now claiming govt's latest cost blowout of iRex could have put it possibly up to $4 billion - which sounds like cover to be able to bring new deal in somewhere above the old $3b claim
One year after Nicola Willis cancelled the $551m contract to buy 2 new Interisland ferries we’re no closer to a replacement. We do know the PM has asked Winston Peters, who setup the initial project to replace the ferries, to clean up the mess Willis made by cancelling them.
That Cook Strait ferries announcement would have to be the most oversold and underdelivered politics of a wobbly old political year.
No costs
No ferries, or designs, or actual likely models, sizes, deals
Just a new agency, new (old minister) & target date of 2029 - five years
I'm not sure if it is on the route this time, but in 1975 the Māori Land March visited Rewi Maniapoto's grave in Kihikihi and there's an awesome video of the occasion.

nzherald.co.nz/nz/politics/a… "Erica Stanford said advice she has received found the threshold for torture had only been met at Lake Alice." We strongly disagree with this legal analysis and challenge the Government to reveal this advice, so it can be considered formally and publicly.
Struggling with my mate Aaron Smale @ikon_media being banned from covering State Abuse apology at Parliament. Yes, his questions are tough, he's been covering this issue for decades. Are we comfortable with this?
