A black woman from Kenya disappeared in the UK and was found dead in a body of water. Barely anyone reported on it. No one is saying her name. She’s being forgotten. Melissa is doing incredible work to raise awareness about cases no one else will report on.
Edna Mmbali Ombakho came to the UK from Kenya to study and reach her goals, only to end up being found dead in a body of water. No wall-to-wall mainstream media coverage. No televised press conference. Just one local news report followed by silence. open.substack.com/pub/meliss…

So they pushed out a business that’s been there for THIRTY SIX years due to greed and then couldn’t find a new tenant 😭 who the fuck makes these stupid decisions?
After 36 years in business, Brixton News will close on Friday. TfL tripled their rent demands to £120,000 - but since reduced the figure to £85,000, after failing to find a willing tenant. We can reveal TfL are still yet to confirm the new vendor — and in promo materials envisage the retail unit to be coffee shop.

I genuinely cannot fathom how ANYBODY watches this and still thinks they aren’t the answer. Zack Polanski and the Green Party genuinely feel like the only hope this country has right now. Tax the rich, clean the rivers, fix the NHS.
Help us make hope normal again. Join the Green Party now.

Transgender Jamaicans are often left out of relief efforts and are discriminated against when seeking access to care. If you can, pls consider donating to local relief efforts that prioritises the trans population: rustinfund.org/2024/10/08/tr…

They said Jamaica would be flattened. That we wouldn’t survive but look at us; battered, yes but still standing🇯🇲
We are a resilient people, forged by struggles and strengthened by faith. Stronger than they’ll ever understand.
We will rise again; brighter & bolder! 💚💛🖤

Anyone can become disabled. Anyone can lose their job Anyone can become homeless Anyone can go hungry. These are not moral failings. They can happen in an instant. Most people are far closer to living in poverty than they realize. We must fight for one another

Two black girls were racially profiled at a H&M location, the manager denied service to them because she thinks they will get “violent” & “steal“ from the store with no actual proof

trauma doesn't make people stronger. it damages their nervous system. it hijacks their digestive track. it keeps the person in a constant loop of hypervigilance. to tell someone they are stronger because of trauma is to deny what it has cost them to survive.
