I’m exactly a month late whoops, but here’s my 2020 recap. The highlight of 2020 was starting Mr’s HSA. Hello triple tax benefits!! 🎉 onplanrox.com/2020-recap/
We opened it and the $ deducted from his last 2 paychecks hasn’t gone into his hsa. Shows $0 balance. Uggh this is fun. A pain to sort out but worth it in the end!
What happens when Mr’s employer deducts hsa from his paycheck before HSA account is technically opened and a week later shows $0 hsa balance? An unhappy wife...that’s what happens.
Instead of a No Spend January, this year I’m doing a Local Spend January.
Those of us who are in good financial positions, let’s think more about how we can do good, and not just for ourselves.
We watched the founder last night (about McD’s beginning). Pretty interesting, although sad the 1% proceeds in perpetuity was handshake deal not made good on. The design/layout of first McD’s part of the movie jived with my engineering brain. 🤓
Great Christmas with family yesterday (delayed a day due to tons of snow, 16”, so rolling with the punches) and checked Mr’s paystub and although we were last minute we funded his hsa to the 2020 max! 😄 I know the deadline isn’t the end of Dec but still good to sneak it in.
It’s official. The mr is getting me a Nespresso machine for Christmas. I’m giving in to overpriced capsules because I can’t vacation in Europe and convenience. 😂
By finding the paperwork needed to start the HSA we discovered Mr hadn’t updated his beneficiary through his employer. All other accounts we did, but we missed this one. Friendly reminder!!
I love these kind of questions. Mine was my Nana (who has passed since) surprised me like a day ahead with a trip to Disney and Disney cruise with her. Omg the excitement as a kid! And memories I’ll have forever.
My fam thinks it’s cool to keep a hotel receipt from the 60s and talk about how cheap and what could they possibly get at the restaurant for that?! 😆 I know, time value of $, but still fun convo!
I was away from Twitter this past week. My folks visited and I spent a great Thanksgiving with my family. I still shifted our paychecks into an even bigger efund! Heading back to work tomorrow and still dreaming of early retirement!
