I've been wanting to do this story for years and am thrilled it's finally out: inside the surprisingly small, highly specialized industry that repairs the internet cables on the bottom of the ocean theverge.com/c/24070570/inte…

just bought an adapter on aliexpress to put a SSD in the expresscard slot of an old laptop. good news: it seems to work. not so good news: the case was a massive PITA to put together and the mounting screw makes the case bulge, i'm not sure i'll ever get the card back out.

Any advice on what type/grade I should be buying, where I should be buying it (ideally looking for delivery as I don't drive myself) and how much it should cost?

As someone who used to be a big fan of object pascal and has gradually moved away I disagree with this article.

"Pascal has a great community" perhaps, but it's a small one, you will often end up writing your own import units for libraries.

Speaking of import units, there doesn't seem to be any way to make datatypes conditional on the soversion of the library (other than using a custom pre-processor).
