Happy World EV Day! Global EV sales have hit 10m units, EV sales in UK up 38% and now represent 21% of the market. One in five cars built in Britain now has a plug. 1.3m plug-in cars on our roads. U.K. charger roll out up by 40% on last year with 45,000 chargers now installed. Tesla Model Y best selling car in the world Q1 2023. That’s serious progress. Congratulations everybody!

My #Tesla is charging for free in the work car park. Today’s Merseyside power grid carbon intensity average is 21.3 grams of CO2 per kWh.
Car has averaged 2.93 miles per kWh.
Thus 21.3/2.93/1.6 =4.55g per km
U.K. average new car is 113g Km

IMHO what the Queen did so well, David Attenborough too, was not to openly judge others. I think the environmental movement struggles with this because climate change is so scary. But inspiring others without judgement has a powerful and unifying effect.
