Do you know alpha.pool.pm/ by @pool_pm? The video shows the mempool filling up with transactions, and the Hamster Stake Pool validating a block. Thanks to @SmaugPool for this cool feature. #Cardano #CardanoCommunity

People say crypto has no use case. Well I completely disagree, because the use case that drew me here is doing exactly what it's supposed to do. I came here for NFTs, because as someone who was a commercial filmmaker at the time, it was the first time digital artists had something they could put their art on that could act as ownership. Yes, it's a link to an IPFS, or a small file on chain. It's put on a date and time on a blockchain as record or provenance, and essentially documentation of ownership. And the great thing is people went to SOL, where they literally destroyed their NFTs to degen into memecoins, destroying supply. I got to get art from literal legends like Earl Einharm, a generative artist from the 70s who inscribed on Bitcoin ordinals. I got to hang out on Discord with Jesse Moynihan, the artist for Adventure Time, as he made a bizarre fever dream of short film funded by NFTs, I still have the full set of and meticulously collected. I even own a Damien Hirst piece. Even the grifts are of interest to me -- an early art AI grift from the original Midjourney engine that stole data from an artist and was winning art competitions, that's absolutely still gorgeous fully accepting that fact. I also have a fraction of a Warhol Soup Can painting that the creator couldn't sell out to save his life and probably rug pulled. Still historically documented. And I got to see the emergence of new art in the space like aeoniumsky, unsigs, MIO, and Charles Manchin -- and mint their works for nothing or buy for dirt cheap from the secondary market like Yasen, who was one of the first people run out of the space by the IOG cabal. pool.pm is STILL the killer app of Cardano from @SmaugPool. I got all this for practically nothing, because no one appreciated it because they only cared about quick flips and dumping for more mint gambles, or as a weapon to hurt artists. And I have the provenance of storing them all in my cold wallet and not touching it. It's like a snapshot of culture over the past 5 years. So crypto served me well, because as a collector of many things, I've seen and experience true value explode of simply holding and forgetting things and letting them gain time value ✌️

After serving the Cardano ecosystem since 2021 and sharing an incredible journey with thousands along the way, we’ve reached a point where the JPG Store & Comet platforms have to be sunset. While we deeply value the people who have supported us, the platforms have reached a stage where they are no longer sustainable to operate. JPG Store & Comet will continue to be online until the 23rd of May. After which, the website will be shut down, though the smart contracts will continue to live on. 🧵1/6

Due to personal circumstances, we are forced to retire our TANTUM pool. We ask delegators to relocate their delegations to other pools. Thank you.

🚨 This is huge: Cardano @ada_stake Pool TNTM is retiring after 5 years and having 3317 delegators. Stake 32m $ADA.

Slow blockchains are better! High-TPS chains are actually just L2s in denial and real wealth will always flee to the "slow" lane. 🧵1/6

What about Cardano rewards decline over time? Here is a chart with all delegators rewards average and SMAUG rewards. SMAUG is well above average which is now < 2% annualized ROA. Note that pool owners are excluded as they also get pool margin cost, unlike most delegators.

Pool_pm has been relying on NFTCDN since 2022. This is a huge milestone🔥
The Cardano community just hit 1 BILLION requests to NFTCDN 🎉 Fast. Reliable. Battle-tested at scale. Completely free until March 2027. To every wallet, marketplace, and dApp displaying tokens through NFTCDN, thank you. To those wrangling CIPs, IPFS, and media optimization instead of focusing on their core product, we're here when you're ready. Which Cardano project should integrate next?

Dear Artists & Collectors, With a broken heart, we are sunsetting Kreate. We have been running at a loss since the beginning. The lack of traction for CNFT, especially appreciation for Fine Arts, has made it even more difficult to grow in the past 2 years. 1/3

Following their announcement 2 months ago, the Cardano Foundation has now moved all their public delegations from community stake pools to their own pools except the one to the UN Refugee Agency.

Initial announcement: x.com/Cardano_CF/status/1970…

Replying to @Cardano_CF
8/ After 5 years of bootstrapping Cardano SPOs, we’ll now shift more of our focus to supporting the larger Cardano ecosystem. To keep financial sustainability during this period, we are sunsetting our current SPO delegation strategy by delegating to our own Cardano Foundation pools, that we fully pledge, over the next few months. We thank the almost 400 pools that received a delegation from the Foundation and carry forward the mission of decentralization.

Troubling after all this time how many still get CIP25v2 NFTs wrong. Just from a quick check of today mints, I found non-compliant NFTs from @DanogoFinance, @FluidTokens and @OptimFi. Remember that the `policy_id` and `asset_name` must be raw bytes in CBOR with v2, not hex strings or utf8 strings. I guess JSON intermediary representation for CBOR does not help, nor tools tolerance for errors. What library do you use to mint your assets? It might be an issue with it, its documentation, or parameters validation. DM me if needed.

I am gonna go out on a limb and actually say this is pretty cool. Nakamoto style consensus without proof of work is extremely hard to build. The protocol functioned as designed in the presence of bugs.

What is fascinating about yesterday's event is how Cardano recovered from a minority chain and got rid of the symptom while preserving most of the history and progress since the incident. 🧵
