I have done it too for 38 years. It’s called outstanding productivity. Some people do it. Some others don’t. But being suspicious of something that you can’t do, is not a good practice in science. Because, some people can. It is not called cheating. It’s called passion &talent!

Unpopular opinion but seeing someone with >10 ASH abstracts as a student/resident seems like a red flag to me. Quality research takes time, and unless you are a full time scientist (or a faculty with multiple mentors) I'm not sure how this can be achieved.

#OrgulloJaveriano 💛💙 El Dr. @izarante, director de @GeneticaPUJ y profesor de la @MedicinaPUJ, junto con el colectivo de investigadores: Adriana Maritza Guaca Ruiz, Shirly Johana Puentes Mahecha, Diana Patricia Gracia Meza, Xiomara del Pilar Fernández Bernal y Santiago Andrade Villamil, vinculados a @GeneticaPUJ y a @SectorSalud, consiguieron el Premio en Ciencias Exactas, Físicas y Naturales por el trabajo: "Impacto de la vigilancia epidemiológica y estrategia de seguimiento en la reducción de la morbimortalidad infantil por defectos congénitos en Bogotá: 20 años de esfuerzo. Estrategia de vigilancia intensificada de los defectos congénitos", entregado por la @FAAEColombia.
Asimismo, le egresada del Programa de Ecología y coordinadora de la investigación, Lina María Sánchez Clavijo, consiguió, junto con su equipo, la Mención de Honor en Medio Ambiente y Desarrollo Sostenible - Camila Botero Restrepo por el trabajo: "Monitoreo de la biodiversidad colombiana", el cual fue realizado bajo su coordinación junto a 70 investigadores más vinculados en su mayoría al @inst_humboldt.

PSA: Stop calling macrophages in tissue M1 or M2. These are not states that exist in biology. The only use of M1 is a macrophage cultured ex vivo with LPS and IFNg; and for M2: IL-4/13/10. Macrophages in tissues are highly complex and diverse and do not resemble either of the aforementioned M1/M2 states. M1/M2 language causes confusion and sets the field back. Refer to your macrophages by the molecules they express and the cytokines they make.
