No 1 seeds in college sports: - billable hours - lack of accountability - unintended consequences - fear of lawsuits
There will be more lawyers.

🙏to a legend in our profession
Prayers to good friend and retired Louisville SID Kenny Klein (@KKcards) who suffered a medical emergency yesterday and is being cared for at a Louisville hospital. Kenny has been a special assistant with Rick Pitino’s basketball program at St. John’s for past 2 years. Great guy.

So you mean rules established by like the schools and voted on? 😂😂😂
The plot continues to thicken with the Sorsby situation. College athletics needs a legitimate governance model asap, one not reliant on the federal government.

I say we leave the lawyers in charge. They ALWAYS know what's best for everyone. Just ask them

We're at this point because us adults refuse to hold young people accountable for their actions
🎯 We know how the Sorsby ruling happened. It’s because the current college athletics model leads to decisions being made by courts. Things won’t change without a new model.

So we've officially reached the point where lawyers, instead of coaches, decide who plays. We're closer to shutting it down than most of us think
Brendan Sorsby’s attorney, Jeff Kessler, has sent the Big 12 a letter saying the conference could be subject to legal action if they take steps against Texas Tech. Full letter, obtained by @FOS:

There is nothing like feeling the wrath of a TSA agent when they say you need to do something the opposite way that the previous TSA agent told you to do

Best summary I’ve read
Regarding the Sorsby Ruling, a few thoughts. 1. Duh. If you ever deciphered a single episode of Three’s Company, you could see this one coming like Mr. Furley from downstairs. Not shocked in the least. 2. Mid-wits in sports media (e.g. Bilas) have been making the NCAA out to be some kind of evil bogeyman, when they were always just the referee. Quick whistle? Sure. Ticky tack calls sometime? Yeah. But somebody had to call the damn game. Now the ref is stuffed in the trunk of a Buick by the courts, and we got what we got. 3. We’re not allowed by karma rules to root for injuries, but let me just say, God forbid… I wouldn’t be sad. 4. Don’t forget Sorsby is also making MILLIONS in his “paper route” like shakedown of several schools via NIL. 5. You can still watch the games and enjoy. Wager lightly, as it’s quite certain now some of the players have juice in just about every game. And stop caring. Thats the key. You just can’t care anymore. It’s too stupid. Thanks for coming to my Ted Talk.

Lawyer wants student athlete money to be spent on union dues, agents and legal fees under the guise of “protecting student-athletes rights.” Stevie Wonder can see through this scam
It’s fine if you disagree with today’s ruling in Brendan Sorsby’s case. But the solution isn’t a new federal law giving the NCAA the antitrust exemption it craves. It’s collective bargaining, with the players treated as employees and the employees represented by a union.

ALT The Office Turns GIF

Texas Tech AD Kirby Hocutt 3 months ago: “I think we’re in a time right now where, unfortunately, people are not coming to the table with the good of the enterprise. First and foremost, everybody continues to look out for their own individual situation. And that’s unfortunate."
