We are excited to announce that Sarvam is partnering with @PixxelSpace to power the AI backbone of India's first orbital data centre satellite. This is a first for the country, with India-built AI models running on an India-built satellite and both training and inference happening directly in orbit, without any dependence on foreign cloud or ground infrastructure.

but some fools on our side don't understand this and always blackpill our country by showing 0.1% of china which we get to see after massive firewall
From this whole controversy between india/chinese accounts i got this Chinese philosophy - not all people are born equal, we will move ahead with the most capable ones. Indian philosophy - not all people are born equal, but we will try to move ahead with as many people as possible.

At IIT Bombay, three undergraduates have spent ten months building a semiconductor fab from scratch, fabricating their first working devices this week. A complete NMOS transistor — on tools they made themselves — is expected by the end of the summer. 🧵

Thanks a lot to @astrokaran from @SwarajyaMag for covering our work @hackerfabindia We’re India’s first student built chip fab Read about our story below swarajyamag.com/technology/i…
One of the most fun things you'll read this week: A bunch of @iitbombay 20-somethings spent their college year building an actual semiconductor fab of sorts. They're now weeks from their first working transistor. Technically it's a "hacker fab". -basically a semiconductor fab you build in a college for not a lot of money (it's hard work though) -it makes scrappy chips but who's asking state of art -open source framework that started in the West. -only some seven such fabs exist -the IIT-B one is first outside West. What @hackerfabindia have built: -lithography machine = an old projector with the optics flipped, printing at 3–4 microns (a human hair is ~100) -a 1,100°C furnace built by two first-years from cement, ceramic wool and 50m of resistance wire -a sputter built in-house -a vacuum chamber Whole toolkit: -Rs 15–20 lakh - roughly a campus racing team's annual budget -First devices (a diode and a MOSCAP) came off their own tools on 12 June -Full transistor due by end of summer -2nd in the world to do it on the open HackerFab framework Tagline: Why should TSMC have all the fun? 😎 (good one @aryamman_bhatia & team) @astrokaran's story 👇 swarajyamag.com/technology/i…

Ladies and gentlemen, I know I am late to the party, but this is what we call "Well Done". Now. Use some of that 234 MILLION USD to hire good marketing people, will you?
We're thrilled to announce that we have raised $234M in the first close of our $300M Series B at a $1.5B valuation. @HCLTech and @BessemerVP have joined us in this round, alongside continued support from @khoslaventures and @peakxvpartners For countries and companies, sovereign control on the AI stack is no longer an optionality. Sarvam will be the partner of choice for this aspiration. The capital allows us to accelerate our momentum towards this full stack of models, compute, and deployments. A huge thank you to our customers, partners, investors, and the Sarvam team for your trust and belief in what we are building. We’re just getting started. Read more: sarvam.ai/announcing-series-…

This is extremely disappointing, @AyushmanNHA @CMMadhyaPradesh @MP_MyGov @narendramodi have been trying to get an Ayushman Card issued for the past two weeks, but every step is met with delays, technical issues, or endless processing. This is not just paperwork for us. My bua is battling stage-4 cancer, and every treatment session costs a significant amount. Her condition is critical, and we urgently need the support that this scheme promises to provide. When families are already struggling with a life-threatening illness, they should not have to fight the system as well. Delays in healthcare assistance can have devastating consequences. I sincerely request the concerned authorities to look into this matter and help expedite the process at the earliest. We are in urgent need of assistance. Please help. Time is something cancer patients do not have. #AyushmanBharat #Healthcare #CancerCare #MadhyaPradesh

Congratulations to the entire Sarvam team. The most interesting part of this announcement is that an "Indian IT Services" company, HCLTech, is investing ₹1427 crore to acquire a 10.46% stake in Sarvam AI. A useful reminder that industries often evolve long before critics notice.

Don’t get discouraged if the thing you are trying to build exists in some shape or form. Simply avoid googling or seeing how it is built. Because when you do so, you snap into the other person thought process and abandon yours. You run into problems that they were trying to solve which you may have never need to solve for your use case. I often see some engineers especially seniors when they are told of an idea by their subordinates they quickly say “oh its been done before” or “oh look this github repo up its all there” Do you have a slightest idea what this does to creativity? And even if you decide to still go on with your project and get “ideas” from that other project, your thoughts are contaminated, you will produce a clone product. Where is the fun in that? Don’t even say “Im going to make it better” because that means you are starting where they left off. Don’t say you are saving time, because you will be cutting corners and getting it over with. Like a chore wishing it to be finished. Where is the Art in that? There is a saying in Arabic “to break one’s paddles.” Don’t kill the excitement and spark you have over that, you have absolutely no idea what it will amount to. Build it only to build it so you are lost while building it.

When an organisation stops being transparent, it's workforce naturally becomes less worried about failures when no more you face backlash for your mistakes, since the leadership keeps shielding you. This is fine for a private org, not acceptable for a civilian public organization. General public very gullible, easy to feed them conspiracy theories. This hurts especially for a organization founded on transparency and accountability since they struggled for public support, ruined by poor modern leadership who can't handle politicians. We went from telling politicians how it's done to politicians telling thrnm what to do. Embarrassing from a leadership point of view.

Compute: We were the first team in India to train at scale. We trained the sovereign models at the scale of ~3400 H100s. We are now putting serious capital behind the next step. India's first Blackwell cluster is now online and used by us, and we are building momentum towards operating 10s of megawatts in compute on Indian soil by 2027. Models: With Sarvam 105B, India's first sovereign model built from scratch, we showed that highly capable models can be trained here, independently. More importantly, the capability is now compounding across data, training, evaluation, systems, alignment, and deployment intuition. And we are scaling up to trillion-parameter class models, with larger runs built for coding, agents, and security. A coding model is coming soon... Inference: We already host our own models, with third party usage tripling in the last three months. We are soon taking live a production-grade token factory with the price, throughput, latency, reliability, and governance that banks, governments, enterprises, startups, and developers need for real systems. Products: Our products are now reaching India scale. Voice was our first wedge. It powers millions of interactions per day, doubling in the last three months, while we continue to optimise costs. Like voice, another modality at scale in India is documents, and we are hitting exponential growth of our new document intelligence product. Our fully managed agents product is live with enterprises and is being launched for all next month. Deployment: Most of the value in AI is unlocked in the last mile. We learned that by doing it across engagements in enterprises, government, and strategic sectors. Now we are turning that learning into a platform that allows every organisation to hill climb on its own use cases - whether it is building an agent, customising the harness, creating the data/tool backbone, or finetuning the model on custom data. Talent: Serious researchers are joining us across pretraining and RL, including people who have done meaningful work at the frontier. We are also starting our San Francisco office as the conduit for frontier AI ambition for India first, then the world.

This young girl ended a 𝟳𝟵-𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝘄𝗮𝗶𝘁 for India!! Until recently, most of us had never heard of EGOI. This year, 𝗦𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗶 𝗩𝗶𝘁𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗹 𝗣𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗹 became the first Indian ever to win a Gold Medal there. What makes the story special isn't just the medal. It's the journey behind it, from bronze to gold in just one year. We came across her story and felt it deserved to be shared with more people. As someone who has never even left my city for studies, this feels like a luxury. Every time I read stories about people working remotely while living with their families, my homesickness somehow increases. I got college in my own city too, so I never really had the opportunity to live alone and experience that phase of life. Maybe that's why staying at home, building in public, and having a decent remote job sounds like the ideal life to me. Remote job hometown = peace.

Precisely why the world cannot depend on Starlink and SpaceX for orbital infrastructure. India is going to play an important role in this imbalance.
The US government, citing national security authorities, has issued an export control directive to suspend all access to Fable 5 and Mythos 5 by any foreign national, whether inside or outside the United States, including foreign national Anthropic employees. The net effect of this order is that we must abruptly disable Fable 5 and Mythos 5 for all our customers to ensure compliance. Access to all other Claude models is not affected. We apologize for this disruption to our customers. We believe this is a misunderstanding and are working to restore access as soon as possible. Read our full statement: anthropic.com/news/fable-myt…
