I read once, passingly, about a man named Shakespeare. I only read about him passingly, but I remember one thing he wrote that kind of moved me

boyfriend came in with the wifely duties face on ('pls attend a social engagement') as if I would be like 'ughh' but as he was describing it I was like "are you saying you got tickets to the New Oratorio About the 1876 Centennial Exposition" and he was dumbfounded. I am excited.

I am the least difficult of men. All I want is boundless love and to occasionally see a new opera or some sort of contemporary dance situation. You can picnic at the Mann, its summertime!

Extraordinary how much of the US commentariat doesn't understand that you have to take a "bad deal" after you lose a war

"How can our opponent, the class defined by its monopoly control of the global system of production and distribution, keep beating us??" There are a number of particular ways, but in general that's a silly thing to be surprised about.

The Mississippi cop killed a baby because the management at Walmmart claimed A BABY was shoplifting a pack of diapers (bis mother had a receipt), and now they police have unleashed tear gas on community members protesting the execution of a baby. This is America.
Police in Senatobia, Mississippi, used tear gas on protesters outside a Walmart Tuesday night. Lauren Turman reports from outside the store, where people were protesting the shooting death by police of 1-year-old Kohen Wiley. Updates at: localmemphis.com/article/new…

This is a bad situation. 15 people have been indicted by the federal government.
The Immigrant Defense Network is confirming that a "constitutional observer's home in South Minneapolis was raided by DHS, ICE, and HSI, resulting in an arrest."

Not to millenialpost, but it really is crazy to see the foreign policy plan that’s existed your entire conscious life finally reach the goal it was moving towards, only for it to be the most embarrassing, anticlimactic, and stupid version it could have been.

Solving the NYC transplant discourse by constantly saying “this is not my home, I was displaced here by economic flows, I wish you had a more hospitable approach to guests 🥺”

“I’m here because of capital concentration, which hoards & mediates culture. Your trains are actually very bad but your density of intellectuals and bohemians is very good. I like the parties! If you were more recklessly brave this wouldn’t be a problem, also this a police state”

There you have it. Anthropic's CEO said it: The murder of more than 100 schoolgirls in Minab targeted by Anthropic's CLAUDE "is a use case that doesn't even violate our red lines." Time to rise up against these technofeudal war criminals.
CEO of Anthropic Dario Amodei awkwardly smiles through his answer to a question about why Claude AI directly contributed to the US Military bombing of the elementary school in Minab.

The sad irony is here in the west the label of apartheid is sidestepped whilst in Israel some of the most powerful men admit it openly.

That it is controversial to compare Israel to apartheid South Africa just shows how far from reality the EU is. That’s the pre-2023 conversation. Today’s Israel is widely recognised as a genocidal state, which has committed far worse atrocities than apartheid SA ever did.
Why this matters: "Apartheid" is not a word EU institutions use officially. The EU has criticised Israel – but equating it with apartheid-era South Africa crosses a line no EU policy document has crossed. 4/6

Deranged is the exact word. Really will seem comical, the pervasive question “does Israel have a right to exist” after the fall. Of course Medinat Israel no longer has a right to exist! No specific state form does measured against its actions. Dissolution & replacement are common
I did not realize how deranged and dystopian the Israeli surveillance regime in southern Lebanon was before the current war. Sending drones *inside* people's houses with loudspeakers...
