🧵In July 2024 I broke news that the BMA was planning to vote on a motion to "disavow" the Cass Review & work with others to oppose implementation of its recommendations. Nearly two years' later, the union has officially dropped its opposition, after conducting its own review.

I am giving a "Crash Course in Embryo Development" for the public (no science background needed! pitched around GCSE-level) in London on 21st May crick.ac.uk/whats-on/crick-c… We'll dip into development, with a splash of embryo models, and a pinch of ethics. And it's free (but book)!👍

Excellent, clear and provocative discussion of the relationship between #Embryos and #EmbryoModels. Should they be regulated in the same manner? Is a replica a model? What teaches us more? #BioEthics @profEmmaCave shorturl.at/ruiB4
