What he said👇 Essentially we welcome the Government's approach. We'll be keeping a weather-eye on excessive enforcement from Councils/EHOs and will be pushing - when it is safe - for a swift return to 'old normal'. But overall, a good day and now... IT'S TIME FOR A PINT!

Lots of people complaining about this, mostly, from what I’ve seen, those on furlough or still working. If you’re a pub owner, I reckon you’ll be delighted the Treasury has put this out. The hospitality industry is on its knees: time to get back in business.

We’ve been asking the Government for a 3 week lead in, to fully restock, retrain, put new measures in place, restaff and properly risk assess prior to opening. They are giving the sector 10 days. The hospitality industry has been badly let down.

This is not the dilemma. Pubs are rightly heavily regulated over the sale of alcohol. The issue is the severe damage that the 2m rule is doing to businesses, society and jobs. Correct this right now, before it’s too late. ft.com/content/2fa377f4-ca15…

We have worked collaboratively with Government throughout this crisis. Now give us certainty around 4th July. We are ready to re start pubs safely, but we needed 3 weeks notice.

We're also demanding the Government publishes its guidance for pubs now.
