Tipped employees overwhelmingly oppose Question 5, and we will continue to share their stories so that voters aren’t fooled by our opponents’ deceitful tactics. Our message is simple…trust servers and bartenders by voting NO ON 5.
🗳️ Election Day is in TWO DAYS!!🗳️ Show up for our MA servers and vote NO on No.5. This ballot question boasts that it will give the commonwealth a boost when, in reality, it will act as a sedative. Let's ensure this does NOT happen. #NOon5#MAPoli#StandWithServers
⏲️ Just four days left until Election Day! Know your polling hours to NO on No.5. Community is everything, and WE can do this!! 💪 #StandWithServers#NOon5#MAPoli#ElectionDay
⚠️ FIVE days to go ⚠️ if you haven't made a plan to vote yet, now is the time. Every vote matters, especially when it comes to protecting our servers and ensuring we uplift the voices of tipped MA workers that this ballot initiative impacts. #NOon5#MAPoli#StandWithServers
As a former waitress who knows what it's like to rely on tips, I know how hard our servers work and believe they deserve to be well-compensated for all they do.
I will be joining servers, bartenders, and small business owners to vote No on 5.
My full statement on Question 5. I’ve talked w/ Boston restaurant owners & workers who don’t support proposal from outside interest groups. A similar measure led to job losses in Washington DC. We shouldn’t add more uncertainty for our small businesses & workers. #bospoli#mapoli
So far I have not seen any evidence in the state filings that a Massachusetts bartender or server has donated to this Yes on 5 campaign. bostonglobe.com/2024/10/23/b… via @BostonGlobe
⏰ Only 15 DAYS until Election Day! Don’t wait until the last minute - ensure you know where and how to vote and have all the information. For example, voting NO ensures that servers won’t have to share their tips with non-tipped staff. . #NOon5
🚨 BREAKING NEWS:
"...this haphazard approach via ballot referendum is not the right move at this juncture. The Eagle editorial board endorses a 'no' vote on Question 5." #mapoli
Join me in standing with bartenders and servers, please vote NO on Question 5! 🍻
ALT Statement in Opposition to Question 5
Restaurants are the backbone of our city's economy and the gathering places that give our neighborhoods their unique character. As the City Councilor for District 8—which covers important business districts and streets including Newbury St, Boylston St, Charles St, Causeway St, Lansdowne St, restaurant row in Fenway, Brigham Circle, Kenmore Sq, and countless small businesses—it's my duty to elevate the voices of restaurant workers. They've shared their concerns about how this initiative could jeopardize their livelihoods. I stand in solidarity with bartenders and servers in opposing Question 5. Although I advocate for a living wage for all workers, this ballot measure doesn't align with the needs or nuance of the restaurant industry. The details matter. I urge my constituents to vote NO on Question 5.
🗓️ Today marks ONE MONTH until Election Day! Make sure to check your voter registration so you are set to make your voice heard. Every vote counts, so let's show up and stand with our MA-tipped workers! #NOon5#MAPoli#ElectionDay
