Final update unless conditions change: fire remains 42% contained, 452 acres. Crews helicopters continue monitoring hotspots, especially after upcoming storms. Smoke may be visible but don’t call 911. Cause under investigation.

Cooler temps and higher humidity decreased fire activity. An infrared flight occurred after the rain. There remains heat sources still on the east and nort portion of the fire

Infrared mapping puts the fire at 452 acres and remains 21% contained. Infrared efforts helped identify remaining hot spots where crews will focus efforts. Firefighters are working on controlling the line fighting the fire directly towards Slate Creek
