“As I prepare to take my leave of our shared home place, I find comfort in an old Greek proverb: ‘A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they know they will never sit’,” Seamus Mallon's autobiography ended.

The most important revelation of the Gaza war—indisputable proof that Hamas & PIJ systematically posed as journalists—continues to be ignored by the mainstream media. Because it puts into question every report that ever came out of Gaza. It means the IDF was right all along.
🧵FAKE Gaza Journalist Alert— Yet another "journalist" has been acknowledged by PIJ to be a military commander. Mohammed Al-Sakani is listed by @pressfreedom as an innocent journalist killed by Israel. The 13th fake journalist outed in the last weeks out of over 100. Details: 1/

The former President of the ICJ just destroyed the “Israel is committing genocide” lie. Joan Donoghue (who presided over the South Africa v. Israel case) on Hardtalk: “It didn’t decide that the claim of genocide was plausible… The shorthand that often appears… isn’t what the court decided.” The Court only said Palestinians have plausible rights to be protected from genocide. It made no finding that Israel was plausibly committing genocide. Watch her say it herself. The media and activists have been misrepresenting this and lying for 18 months.

This is the woman David Lammy wants to choose our judges. She says merit alone should NOT determine judicial appointments. “Merit is crucial but so is a focus on diversity."

You have noticed it. ChatGPT feels dumber than it used to. Your prompts that worked six months ago produce worse results now. The writing sounds flatter. The ideas sound safer. The internet itself feels like it is shrinking. Every article reads the same. Every email sounds the same. Every answer sounds like it was written by the same voice. You thought it was you. It is not you. Researchers at Oxford and Cambridge published a paper in Nature proving what is happening. They call it Model Collapse. Here is the mechanism in one sentence. AI trained on AI-generated data gets dumber every generation until it forgets what real human data looked like. The internet is filling with AI-generated content. Blog posts. Articles. Reviews. Comments. Social media. AI companies scrape the internet to train the next generation of models. Which means the next generation of AI is being trained on the output of the current generation. Each cycle loses information. Not randomly. It loses the rarest, most unusual, most creative parts first. The researchers call these the "tails of the distribution." The weird ideas. The unexpected perspectives. The things that made the internet feel human. Those disappear first. What remains is the average. The safe. The expected. The bland. Then the next generation trains on that. And loses more. And the next generation trains on that. And loses more. The researchers proved this is not a slow decline. Major degradation happens within just a few iterations. Even when some of the original human data is preserved. They tested it on large language models. On image generators. On statistical models. The pattern was the same every time. The output converges toward a narrow, flattened version of reality that looks nothing like the original data. The lead researcher put it plainly. "Large language models are like fire. A useful tool. But one that pollutes the environment." The pollution is invisible. You cannot see which sentence on the internet was written by a human and which was written by AI. Neither can the AI that is about to train on it. And once the tails are gone, they do not come back. The damage is irreversible. This is not a prediction anymore. It is a diagnosis. The internet you grew up on was built by humans writing things no algorithm would have written. Strange, personal, imperfect, alive. That internet is being diluted. One generation of AI at a time. And the models trained on what remains are learning a smaller and smaller version of the world. Model Collapse is not a technical problem. It is a cultural one. The thing that made the internet worth reading is the thing that disappears first.

Suicidal empathy is watching a migrant from Sudan try and behead another man and then ask: “what do you mean, alien cultures?”
WOW. This exchange in the House of Commons reveals the problem. Jim Allister: “What is being done to stop the importing of alien cultures in which people think it is acceptable to try and behead somebody?” Hilary Benn: “sorry, what do you mean by alien cultures?”

Just checking what your policy would be if Iran fired missiles at Britain? Should we show restraint too? @YvetteCooperMP
The resumption of conflict between Iran and Israel is in no one’s interest. Both sides must show restraint and de-escalate immediately. Negotiations must continue towards the lasting settlement that we all need, for peace and stability in the region, and for the full restoration of global trade.

Iranian man warns that Sharia law starts with unity between the left and Islam. Pay attention to what he’s saying. The same alliance between the left and Muslims that is taking place now in the West happened decades ago in Iran. That’s how Iran became an Islamic theocracy.

This redefinition of safeguarding is a terrible overreach. Every priest deals, most weeks, with people want things from the Church. And will weaponise their claim to be vulnerable in order to target the clergy to get what they want. When everything is safeguarding, nothing is.
This is incredibly important and Angela’s thread explains why. The Charity Commission is trying to move safeguarding from being laser-focused on children and vulnerable adults to being about everyone at all times. It will ow safeguarding in the CofE up completely.

"What caused Israel to attack Iran?" a Beirut-based reporter was asked just now on BBC Radio's Today. The answer was all about Netanyahu's politicking over the Iran deal and pressure from the Israeli public, with only a passing vague reference to Hezbollah's continued attacks on Israel. No mention of the nearly daily killing of IDF soldiers in Lebanon, nor the missile attack on Israel's north which breached Trump's ceasefire terms and precipitated Israel's attack on Beirut. Other media this morning are also presenting Israel falsely as the aggressor rather than defending itself against Iran which has been using Hezbollah to attack Israel. The usual truly wicked media distortion that's fuelled murderous hatred against Israel and the Jewish people. @HonestReporting
