Replying to @Sam_in_Cam
@Sam_in_Cam @alexbeckett @camcitco @CambsCC this space at the end of Clarendon St is for cars to turn, and instead is permanently occupied by @voitechnology scooters. Do we residents have any rights, or can VOI seize public roads and do whatever they please? It’s disgusting 🤮

Trump has said 37 times that an Iran deal was close, or that Iran was desperate to sign one, since the war began in March. He promised a finished agreement within two weeks back on April 7. Two and a half months later, there is still no deal and no date for one — CNN. 1/

Thought I'd take a look at @crash_map to see how that £2.4m investment in Fendon Road roundabout is working out - looks like more accidents, and a higher proportion of them are severe

…and this is why outside of the Cambridge bubble there’s not a chance in hell I’ll ever vote Green! @Murielschild @ClareFKing
🚨BREAKING | Labour MP Nadia Whittome has tabled a motion to REJECT the EHRC bathroom ban "guidance". If MPs back her motion, the EHRC guidance will be rejected and will not be implemented. Motion is co-signed by Green MPs Hannah Spencer and Sian Berry.

Against my best intentions I’ll have to vote LD as the only reasonable candidate in the Market is Katie Porrer, who’s local and knows local problems very well. Only other option is vote Reform as protest vote. I’m really tempted to stay home, the situation is bleak. @PhilRodgers

The Elizabeth Way Ghost Bus Lane. It hasn’t seen a bus in maybe a decade, it’s crumbling down, and still it’s a bus lane with active enforcement cameras. What’s going on? @Murielschild @ElliotTongUk @markrwilliamson @CambsCC

Labour in 2024 - we're going to recruit more 6,500 teachers Labour in 2026 - we're going to recruit 6,000 less teachers
The DfE has cut its teacher trainee target by 23%, meaning more than 6,000 fewer teachers will need to enter training in 2026/27 than the previous year. šŸ“‰Music, physics, and RE are the subjects that will see the steepest reductions: tes.com/magazine/news/genera…

We’re hostages of the rogue company @voitechnology whose vehicles with the complacency of @CambsCC incessantly break the Highway Code without ever facing any consequences.

Just received marketing email regarding Eddeva Park. Had never heard of that but it's a development to come off Worts Causeway. cdcstudio.co.uk/projects/edd… My favorite bit of the email is: 1/..

<<Perfectly placed for work and leisure, you’re just a 3 minute cycle from Addenbrooke’s Hospital and only 9 minutes* from Cambridge city centre.>>. šŸ˜‚ Email says it's launchin 18th April 2026. Wanna bet on the day we'll see the first school there, @markrwilliamson?

Greggs is back in Fitzroy Street, in the premises shortly occupied by Together Culture where @ACarpenDigital occasionally hung out šŸ˜‰ - I rarely went, but I’m very happy they regretted going away and decided to move back, even if in a smaller space

"It's time to really listen". But only to my friends, and only if they agree with me.

Miracles do happen and after a few days away I found Newmarket Rd opposite Midsummer Common all resurfaced. Am I still in the UK? I think I need to thank the half marathon! Before it looked as if the street had been bombed.

@alexbeckett @miranda_fyfe @Murielschild @markrwilliamson @PhilRodgers this is how it's done. Like Mitcham's Corner will last several years. Patches with the dragon/spider/whatever machine crumble in the space of weeks or months. And patches are patched again in hell circle

Can we have a bit more than the 300m at the side of Midsummer Common, please?

The recent viral article by pseudo journalist and professional troll Sangeeta Pillai has been for me a useful reminder that being polite and civilised is a universal value that doesn’t really define a culture, but individuals.

My feed since yesterday is literally flooded with pro-Starmer posts (and I don’t especially follow Starmer’s throes on here. All similar: ā€œnot a big fan, but it takes guts to speak like yesterday, I was impressedā€. Is Labour social media team on the attack?

So that’s the solution, then: we all need to drive around Cambridge at 60mph!
Fascinating look at how speed changes the way a vehicle interacts with potholes.
