JUST IN: ECU will promote Bryant Packard to hitting coach, per sources. Former Pirate hitting coach Jake Gautreau is taking a job at Coastal Carolina. Packard has been on ECU’s staff since 2023 and is a former All-American OF with the Pirates.
In addition, staffer Thomas Francisco will move from Director of Operations to assistant coach, working with the hitters, as well as the catchers.

The 9 that did make the NCAA's combined for an 8-18 record in the Tournament and only 3 even made a Regional Final.
The 2025 College World Series Finals featured 2 teams (Coastal Carolina & LSU) who were picked 4th in their league's preseason poll.
Of this year's CWS qualifiers, West Virginia was picked 3rd in the Big 12, Troy was picked 3rd in the Sun Belt & Ole Miss picked 10th in the SEC.

Regardless of the last 3 teams to qualify for Omaha, the 24 spots in the 2024, 2025 and 2026 Men's College World Series fields will have consisted of 23 different schools.
Only North Carolina (2024 & 2026) has been there twice in the past three seasons.
