Anyone else ever wonder if Gordon and Shugart thought about trying to use the miniguns on Durant's Blackhawk? If they had gotten one running could it have enabled them to hold-out? These are the things I ponder...when I'm not thinking about Rome. youtube.com/watch?v=6lG0oJHV…

It gets worse: the grid connection requests active at the end of 2023 were more than double the total installed capacity of the US power plant fleet (2,600 GW vs. 1,280 GW). It's well more than 3,000 GW. There will be $trillions in semiconductor paperweights over the next decade
Want to build a data center? Then you have to wait 2.5 years for the power transformers alone (and 3 years for the step ups)

This is the TSA agent who got annoyed that I opted out of facial recognition, then scanned me anyway. Officer Nemec, I filed a complaint. I’m not holding my breath for consequences, but I will make sure the public sees you ignored my rights. 🖕 Spokane airport. Checkpoint A.

RED ALERT: Americans who question AI data centers are now being treated like potential terrorists under a disturbing new law enforcement category called “anti-tech extremism.” Secret government documents suggest that parents, retirees, farmers, and ordinary Americans speaking out at county meetings are increasingly being viewed as potential threats, simply for raising concerns about giant AI projects reshaping their communities. According to more than 1,000 unpublished DHS, FBI, and fusion center reports obtained by WIRED, authorities are monitoring citizens worried about water shortages, farmland destruction, skyrocketing electricity costs, noise pollution, and the unchecked expansion of AI infrastructure. Some reports even suggest that photography, observation, or speaking at public meetings may be treated as “pre-operational planning” tied to possible future violence. Meanwhile, peaceful residents are being removed or arrested at town halls across multiple states. Americans used to believe showing up at a local meeting and questioning powerful interests was part of democracy. Now some of those same people are being viewed through the lens of extremism. See the leaked documents and disturbing examples for yourself in @zeeemedia's report before this becomes something Americans are afraid to do publicly.

Google is making big changes to its search engine. Instead of mostly showing links to websites, it’s now going to put AI-generated answers and interactive features front and center. Starting next Tuesday, search results will include bigger conversation-style boxes, AI information assistants, and personalized mini-apps powered by Gemini. The old “ten blue links” era is basically over. This shift will send even less traffic to independent websites and news publishers on top of the drops many have already seen from Google’s AI overviews. Publishers who rely on Google to get readers will need to adapt fast, because fewer people will click through to the original content.

Cellular networks are under attack from Chinese hackers and commercial surveillance vendors. Although the vulnerable SS7 protocol was replaced by a more secure Diameter protocol in 4g and 5G, operators have failed to implement it or failed to implement it properly. As a result, our cellular systems are vulnerable to attack from some less than advanced attackers. This includes DoS, eavesdropping, and location services.

This is what local accountability looks like: In Festus, Missouri, a town of about 14,000 people, the city council quietly approved a $6 billion Ai data center to be built on 360 acres just north of Highway 67. Residents say they were never properly heard. Meetings were held in private. Documents were released too late. A week after the approval, the town held a regular election. Voter turnout jumped 129 percent. Every single council member who had voted yes lost in a landslide. A 70-year-old first-time candidate beat an 8-year incumbent by 40 percentage points. Now a recall petition is circulating to remove the mayor as well. The lawsuit against the city is already filed. Has your local government ever been held accountable like this? 🔥

KILL THE KILL SWITCH
Americans already distrust Washington, so naturally the next step is giving it the power to brick your car. Nothing says 'free country' quite like asking the government for continued access to your own ignition. Kill The Kill Switch. @NewstalkSTL

From an ODU ROTC cadet on campus: After the shooter opened fire in the ROTC classroom, cadets in the room jumped on him, stabbed him 22 times, and neutralized him before police arrived on the scene. Thank you to these brave cadets who kept the ODU campus safe! Please pray for the Monarch community.
Earlier today, an armed individual opened fire at Old Dominion University, leaving one person dead and two others wounded. The shooter is now deceased thanks to a group of brave students who stepped in and subdued him – actions that undoubtedly saved lives along with the quick response of law enforcement. The FBI is now investigating the shooting as an act of terrorism. Our Joint Terrorism Task Force is fully engaged, embedded with local authorities, and providing all resources necessary in the investigation. In the meantime, please pray for the victims, their families, and the ODU community.

Some Android phones can be fully decrypted in ~45 seconds. Researchers from @Ledger Donjon team discovered a flaw in parts of MediaTek’s secure boot chain. With physical access and just a USB cable, attackers can: • Dump encryption keys before Android boots • Decrypt the entire phone storage • Brute-force the lock PIN offline • Extract crypto wallet seed phrases The proof-of-concept was demonstrated on the Nothing CMF Phone 1. Wallets tested included: • Trust Wallet • Kraken Wallet • Phantom • Rabby • Base MediaTek issued a firmware patch earlier in 2026, but devices are only protected if the manufacturer ships the update. Many budget and mid-range phones using MediaTek chips could be affected. Update your device. Source : Bitget
