I wrote this book (whentheywinyouwin.com/the-bo…) because people deserve to be led well, and the overwhelming evidence is that managers are failing, despite the mountains of content aimed at helping them be better. Don't worry, gang, I brought receipts (they're in the book!)

This week in tech: Billionaire founders who are disconnected from how work actually gets done are (yet again) racing to declare managers obsolete.

Very good advice. Not sure about ALL of the reasons, but keeping interpersonal distance at work is IMO a best practice. And if you're a manager, it's non negotiable. Do not bring your bullshit to your team. They do not want to hear it.
BREAKING NEWS: No matter how close you are with your coworkers, never discuss your personal matters at work. Neverrrrrrrrrrrr Everrrrrrrr. HERE'S WHY...

Absolutely cannot wait.
"And if I can go that distance, you see, and that bell rings and I'm still standin', I'm gonna know for the first time in my life, see, that I weren't just another bum from the neighborhood." Coming Nov. 10, 2026.

Think for yourself re: the new anti-tush push narrative.
When @DeanBlandino said "I'm done with the tush push. It's hard to officiate," it set off a barrage of mimics saying "ban it, it's too hard to officiate." @NFLOfficiating & @eagles - here are the problems with that logic. 1/10

I worked at GOOG for 7 years & listened very carefully to Larry & Sergey about their vision for search. Using Grok, it is clear to me that this product has become what L&S envisioned. Remarkable the lead GOOG had and now they are very far behind.

I wrote a book called "When They Win, You Win" in which we studied the quantitative relationship between specific leadership behaviors and team outcomes & engagement. I watched Nick Sirianni very closely this year through the lens of these behaviors. 👇👇 #FlyEaglesFly

Because many senior leaders only trust that work is being done, if it's being done in a fishbowl. Here's an article on a more rational approach. medium.com/@russ_laraway/you…
Why are some so against people working remote? If a job can be done remotely & that person can work autonomously then why not? I get so much more done and am much happier overall when I work remote. No distractions. No pointless meetings. No wasted time getting ready & driving

Forget Musk. Our government routinely STEALS from us. I cannot believe there isn't more outrage.
They’re now openly admitting it. The $42 billion high speed internet program money was laundered and used for programs it wasn’t intended for How they did it: The FCC awarded Elon Musk’s Starlink $885 million to serve 642,925 homes Joe Biden targeted Elon Musk, revoked the contract after buying Twitter and then Democrats turned around and made a deal that “cost $100,000 per home”, but spent the money on their radical agenda instead They are literally openly admitting the $42 billion was laundered to be used for their radical agenda, not what it was intended for “So what has happened in the process of $42 billion being allocated for Americans to get internet?” “What they've been doing so far is advancing a wishlist of progressive policy goals. They've been pushing for DEI requirements, climate change, agenda preferences for government run networks, rather than just focusing on getting people connected.” Money laundering

Private Equity routinely replaces quality staff with bozos.
My wife worked for a company that was purchased by a private equity firm that immediately brought in an Indian CEO. He pushed out all the founders and replaced all the C-suite with Indians. He used Covid as excuse to force every employee to take a "temporary" 10% pay cut and he froze all promotions. He laid off 15% of the workforce, almost exclusively the most experienced employees. He shut down one of the satellite offices that did more manual stuff like data entry, and outsourced their work to India. My wife's workload doubled during this time period. The work/life balance and culture created by the founders was gone over night. Work product also suffered across the company. New leadership placed an emphasis on simply gaining new clients and not providing the same customer support for the existing client base. Client satisfaction drastically decreased as a result. Many clients complained that their account manager who they had a 20 year relationship with was replaced by someone with little experience. This story isn't rare or novel. Many Americans have dealt with a similar scenario in the last decade or so. My wife eventually found a job at a company that was still family owned with no intention to sell to PE.

Just realized this has the ability to be perceived as "Indians are bozos." I was not paying attention to the race, just the simple fact that PE frequently emplaces bozos.

I know. I can't believe unelected officials are creating circumstances under which government spending decisions are made.
Bernie Sanders has CALLED OUT Elon Musk… Thoughts?

I cannot believe how easily these have slid through year after year (independent of party). Our representatives spend our money - current and future - like there are no limits. VR earned his $0.00.
I wanted to read the full 1,500 page bill & speak with key leaders before forming an opinion. Having done that, here's my view: it's full of excessive spending, special interest giveaways & pork barrel politics. If Congress wants to get serious about government efficiency, they should VOTE NO. Keeping the government open until March 14 will cost ~$380BN by itself, but the true cost of this omnibus CR is far greater due to new spending. Renewing the Farm Bill for an extra year: ~$130BN. Disaster relief: $100BN. Stimulus for farmers: $10BN. The Francis Scott Key Bridge replacement: $8BN. The proposal adds at least 65 cents of new spending for every dollar of continued discretionary spending. The legislation will end up hurting many of the people it purports to help. Debt-fueled spending sprees may "feel good" today, but it's like showering cocaine on an addict: it's not compassion, it's cruelty. Farmers will see more land sold to foreign buyers when taxes inevitably rise to meet our obligations. Our children will be saddled with crippling debt. Interest payments will be the largest item in our national budget. Congress has known about this deadline since they created it in late September. There's no reason why this couldn't have gone through the standard process, instead of being rushed to a vote right before Congressmen want to go home for the holidays. The urgency is 100% manufactured & designed to avoid serious public debate.   The bill could have easily been under 20 pages. Instead, there are dozens of unrelated policy items crammed into the 1,547 pages of this bill. There's no legitimate reason for them to be voted on as a package deal by a lame-duck Congress. 72 pages worth of “Pandemic Preparedness and Response” policy; renewal of the much-criticized "Global Engagement Center," a key player in the federal censorship state; 17 different pieces of Commerce legislation; paving the way for a new football stadium in D.C.; a pay raise for Congressmen & Senators and making them eligible for Federal Employee Health Benefits. It's indefensible to ram these measures through at the last second without debate. We're grateful for DOGE's warm reception on Capitol Hill. Nearly everyone agrees we need a smaller & more streamlined federal government, but actions speak louder than words. This is an early test. The bill should fail.

Among the many continuity problems in the TV show Family Guy is the fact that Stewie can travel through time, is a genius, and yet the Griffins somehow live on Sooner Street in a modest home.

I can't wait for DOGE to identify the disgusting waste in our federal government. AND it is absolutely hilarious that Elon and Vivek are screaming about the problem of "unelected bureaucrats" as they hire an army of unelected bureaucrats to identify government waste.
We are very grateful to the thousands of Americans who have expressed interest in helping us at DOGE. We don’t need more part-time idea generators. We need super high-IQ small-government revolutionaries willing to work 80 hours per week on unglamorous cost-cutting. If that’s you, DM this account with your CV. Elon & Vivek will review the top 1% of applicants.

I am aware the intention is to make these positions unpaid. We'll see. It's all less funny if they pull that off. Last night I found search results on EM's profile focusing on the UNELECTED part. He was copied on a lengthy exchange. Today, I repeated the search & they're gone.

Unelected bureaucrats speak at length regarding the problem of unelected bureaucrats. @TheBabylonBee - it's right there.

This needs to be fixed. Should be rule by democracy, not rule by bureaucracy!

@Tesla Got these today. The car began to change lanes on the highway into the second trailer of a semi. Wife was driving, took over, saved our lives. No, not just signal, but actually tried to go across the lane into the semi. #FSD

This is really bad, guys. Huge step backwards for our car. Went from believing FSD was safer than humans to not being comfortable using it. @Tesla @elonmusk

@HootieTweets - guys, saw you in Utah & Columbia. Well done. Favor: I lived at the DMZ in the early 90s. We got you hear you play Fake ID one time, probably Group. We're remaking some Carolina Marines T-shirts. Any chance you remember the lyric about getting drunk at the DMZ?
