I learnt a long time ago that there is a big difference between making a living and making a life. In the times to come, AI will get increasingly better at the skills that we've used to make a living. Our imperative will be to instead make lives. Not artificial lives. Or artificial lives. But our own lives and of those we love. As machines get better at answering, and solving what they are asked, our work is to get better at asking, at making, creating, and deciding which questions are worth a life, and refusing to outsource that.

Being a founder is a strange thing. You slowly realise that no one else, not your team, not your peers, not even those who deeply support you, can actually do the thing you have set out to do. It is yours alone. That kind of clarity gives you purpose. But it can also quietly scare you, especially when you look at the state of the world right now and feel how much really needs building. I have had that feeling more than a few times this year. But there is something I keep coming back to. I am alive. I get to think. I get to choose what I build. I get to rest when I need to. I get to play with my dog, drink my morning coffee, laugh with friends, enjoy the small things. The same life that gives you the weight of being a builder also gives you the freedom to live it well. So I am slowly learning that being a founder is not only about the weight of "no one else can do this." It is also about the gift of "I get to do this." Both are true. And honestly, holding both at the same time may be the real founder skill. #FounderLife #Building #Reflection

A good move...
Good move. But not sufficient. Need to be more comprehensive.

SF was over if not for OpenAI and Anthropic! Before that, it was over if not for Stripe, Uber, Airbnb, Twitter, Salesforce, Visa, Gap... and if you go back a bir further - Levi's, Bank of California, Spreckels Sugar, Wells Fargo, Union Iron Works, Southern Pacific :) The city gets “saved” by the next boom every time. After the gold rush, there was silver, railroads, shipping, banks, sugar, utilities, Pacific trade, defense, semis, PCs, biotech, enterprise software, the internet, social, mobile, SaaS, fintech, crypto, and AI. I think that's just how it goes in this town.

It probably was over if it wasn’t for OpenAI / anthropic.

Google which is cash surplus, just announced an additional capital raise of $80 bn. Google annual profit is $160 bn, last quarter $62 bn, and market cap $4.5 trillion. That is close to total profits and market cap of all Indian listed companies put together. It’s a wake up call to all companies to invest into the future, whatever the present maybe. Now that IPL is done and dusted, time for India to focus on business of business.

If there is one group in India I truly respect and admire, it is the Bajaj Group. They will deliver on this too. Very R&D driven: go read about their Bajaj Pulsar DTSi & related innovations. Core auto tech And yes, I like their outspoken-ness. Been a fan of the late old man!
India won’t just adopt the next wave of tech. India will build it. We’ve launched Finserv Intelligence: our applied research & innovation initiative. We’ve partnered IIT Bombay on AI, cybersecurity and quantum & we are committed to backing deep tech founders with Rs. 1,500 crore-2,000 crore investment over 5 years. Beyond financial services, we will expand into health & climate technologies.   We’ve chosen to build. In India. For India & the world.   #MadeInIndia #DeepTech #FinservIntelligence

Even to get GST number for your business, you have to pay bribe.
To build even a single road in India, the contract is awarded -- depending on kickbacks, not competence. People eventually become okay driving on broken roads. Or no roads at all. They are okay blending 30% ethanol and damaging their vehicles. They adjust, accept the reality and move on. We are not a free market. We are a market protected by excess regulations. Here, the government basically tells: where you can invest vs not. Anyone sharing contrary opinions is either a scammer or an anti-national. Brain-rot is real. Corruption is the oil that now greases the machinery. Cutting taxes is NOT going to bring FIIs back. FIIs are investors. They got choices. Cut taxes-> FIIs book their profits faster. And, rightly so.

#NEET #CBSE #Ethics #India

I welcome the progress towards an agreement between the US and Iran. We need to see an agreement that brings the conflict to an end and reopens the Strait of Hormuz, with unconditional and unrestricted freedom of navigation. It’s vital that Iran must never be allowed to develop a nuclear weapon. My government will continue to do everything we can to protect British people from the impact of this conflict. We will work with our international partners to seize this moment and achieve a long-term diplomatic settlement.

कई लोगों ने पूछा — Ram, ye sab to bahut bada lagta hai.

Saturday is my favourite day to learn something with no goal. No target, no use, just curiosity. Some of my best ideas came from these slow, "useless" hours. What are you learning this weekend?

Owning your own mess is the hardest thing. Also the most powerful. Nobody is coming to fix it. Bas khud hi karna padta hai.
Never play the victim. You're exactly where your decisions have taken you. Own it and change it.

Last week I met a founder. He is making a cancer drug. It is early days, but he told me they are already close to trials. And the medicine, they designed it using AI. Ab ye kya hai..I kept thinking about it. It was not a big company with hundreds of scientists. Just one founder. A small team of 5 people. And they are trying to fight cancer. Some years back everyone would have said this is just big talk. Now I am not so sure. AI-made drugs are already being tested on real patients. One company, Insilico, used AI to make a medicine for a serious lung disease, where there are very few treatments today. Normally it takes 6 to 8 years to go from idea to human testing. They did it in less than 30 months. And the early results were good. The patients who took the drug got better. The ones who took the placebo got worse. This is not just one example. The team that built AlphaFold, the work that won a Nobel Prize in 2024, has now signed deals with Lilly and Novartis. Worth up to 3 billion dollars. To design new medicines. Some for cancer also. Why should a normal person care? Because medicines can reach patients faster. Making them can become cheaper, and maybe one day the medicine becomes cheaper too. And the diseases nobody cared about, because they were rare or did not make money, now someone is working on them. For years we talked about AI writing our emails. This is AI helping to save lives. To me, these two are not the same thing at all. 2026 is the real test year. The big results are coming. If they work, medicine will not be the same again. #AI #DrugDiscovery #CancerResearch #Healthcare
