Hey @myBESTElectric, my senior citizen dad, 80, is being given the runaround for a simple smart meter issue. Is this how your department works? Shouldn’t you be making the lives of senior citizens in Mumbai easier?

A ‘super’ El Niño is coming. Should India worry? 🧵 A stronger El Niño raises the risk of a weak monsoon, but that’s only part of the story, writes @randomcards

Imagine the number of Pakistanis who have landed at an airport globally in last 24 hours for pure orchestrated propaganda from Pakistan. No credibility. No honesty. Most of Pakistani population haven’t seen an airport abroad in their life and don’t even have a passport.

Abandoning a pet is one of the worst forms of betrayal. You are the centre of that animal’s universe - its entire understanding of the world. When you walk away, you’re not just leaving an animal behind. You leave behind a shattered creature. Few things reveal character more starkly than how we treat those who depend on us completely.

I have a boy who can't speak, and a dog that can't bark. Snoopy came from a shelter, who rescued him when he was abandoned at their gate, and we have no idea of any of his past life. But it must have involved some trauma, because if you even wag a finger at him for the slightest infraction, he cowers and hides in the nearest convenient spot. And Neel can't speak, and is not really the most adept with his fingers, but he screws his face up and somehow manages to attach the leash to take his doggie for a walk. And then they are off downstairs, Neel unsteadily swaying as Snoopy strains at the leash, and Snoopy trying to take in all the alluring scents before Neel drags him away. And you wonder how difficult it is for both, all that fine motor work for a kid with an incomplete cerebellum, and all that tugging and inexpert pulling for a doggy who can't even bark in protest. But every day, Neel rushes to get ready for his walk, grunting away in excitement, and Snoopy goes up to him and stands obediently while Neel fumbles on his harness. And then off they go, imperfect and yet somehow so complete

We locals of Mumbai have a thumb rule to measure rains. If there is a local train disruption, it is severe. Stay where you are, or find shelter. If the trains are running fine, everything is normal despite the delays. The flow matters. If Western Railway has stopped, bro find shelter and food. Shit has hit the roof. Don't go out. You won't make it.

If you spend 1300 dollars on Pradas ripped off Kolhapuri chappals, the fee should include a visit from an Indian mother who shows up, and beats you with them.
