There is another possible solution to the Fermi paradox: the universe is a zoo, or a nature preserve, or
a grand experiment, and the curators want each planet to evolve independently. So the speed of light keeps us apart with barriers in both distance and time.
Guessing that is part of some programmed demo script. If it really is presenting emergent behaviors of some complexity, like taking you to see its ancestors, aren’t we a bit outside the limits of what can be theoretically explained as model output, and if so, where are we?
