I look back and think I didn't know squat about hitting just one year ago and hope that I can say the same a year from now. #learn #evolve

I love where I’m from but there is one thing I always hated about it…Growing up hearing “you can’t make it from here” everywhere you turn. I’ve seen many guys who have made it and I want the kids from here to know that they can!
Today a WNY kid hit a homerun off of Paul Skenes Another one started pitching in the winners bracket of the College World Series Don’t let anyone tell you that you can’t make it because of where you’re from!

World Cup is a great opportunity to solve some of our immigration questions and we can’t miss this opportunity to observe people’s behaviors during this world tournament. Nothing says I’m here with good intentions and to assimilate into American culture like not watching soccer.

I’m afraid we’ve screwed Tobias Myers by not just letting him be who he is and instead asking for more.

Having elite velocity is like being a hot blonde. It’s gonna get you in a lot of doors no matter what. She can be a cheater and have no personality but the next guy is always gonna give her a chance. Velo guy could never get outs and another program will take the next chance.

This is really good…
Just finished up my college baseball career last month, so I figured I would share some advice I wish I knew before I started my college career. These are based on my opinions and experiences, so if you disagree with some of these feel free to share your opinion.

It’s probably a balk but I’d like to see another angle
Blue Jays manager John Schneider ejected for arguing a balk on a move he says Jeff Hoffman does often

As is customary, no matter how bad the Mets might be playing, you can always count on a series with the Braves to get a couple wins and get back on track!

It’s important to get the best players from SC but also important for fans to accept that your best players may not be SC kids. Some years they will be, some years that would have you buried at the bottom of the league. It’s all about the right mix.

I understand the point and truthfully believe the answer is because it allows guys to sell bats at their tournaments but from a guy who was around when wood bat tournaments started becoming more popular, it’s RIDICULOUS how much better young hitters are now compared to then.
Why are we still running the majority of amateur summer ball with wood bats? It’s not because scouts “need to evaluate players with wood in their hand.” They watch college hitters swing metal all spring long. 95% of amateur hitters have no business swinging wood — especially at 14u-16u. It slows their development and kills confidence. The elite guys can handle it. But I’m a firm believer we should be using way more metal during the summer for the rest of them.

As a volunteer college coach having to run our site many years ago, I’d see 14, 15 and 16 year old games where every game was a struggle to get hits back then. Watch these games now and guys swing it sooooo much better. AND the teams are more watered down now on top of that.

I often find that the biggest issue with players is that while theyre young they’re actually coached out of movements that are good long-term. It’s crazy how many good moves can be pretty natural.
Did she wake up at age 10 doing this? Nope. It's something that's been practiced over and over again! Sure for some it might come quicker than others, but why wait until they're "old enough" to start learning the right movements?

The piece that bothers me is the Mets willingness to write a lineup today that had no chance unless the top 3 just go off. Just play some of the LHH anyway. What are you gonna get out of Wagaman and Brujan? You have Vientos and Semien hitting 4-5. There’s virtually no chance.

I’m just here to say I believe in Kodai Senga. #LGM

Look, I’m sorry. I don’t care if you played in the 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s….you cannot get on here and say with a straight face you ever faced anything like Misiorowski. You just can’t.

Spencer Strider throwing an 88mph fastball to his last hitter isn’t a good sign for him and the Braves.

McLean is filthy but he’s gotta attack when he’s got guys behind in the count. Way too many “chase pitches” and guys know that now so they lay off and it brings them back in the count and the fastball doesn’t play the same when guys can sit on it and he’s gotta throw a strike.

Sitting here in my living room in damn tears watching Jack Delongchamps, the kid I’ve known since he was like 7 years old on the ESPN mothership, live from Omaha. The son of my beloved co-anchor, boyfriend of my other former anchor desk mate, kid I covered winning state titles at Wando. My MyTV Charleston HS Hoops broadcast partner. CSU Buccaneer. Grinder. Had a plan, stuck to it. These are your two weeks in middle America. Unreal.
