The biggest difference between an MD and a DO is that a DO spends considerably more time answering the question, "What is a DO?"

Sign the #SaveStargate petition now share everywhere 👇 change.org/p/save-stargate-w… Who kept the Stargate universe alive for 15 years? The existing fanbase. Without them, plans for a revival have no creative or financial future. Treating the core audience as a ceiling rather than a foundation is a massive corporate misstep by @AmazonMGM @PrimeVideo. The cancellation reveals a bizarre contradiction. Amazon bought Stargate because people care about it. Yet, reports suggest they killed the new series out of fear it would appeal too much to those very fans. This corporate logic has set the entire sci-fi community on fire. 🔥🔥 This isn't normal development disappointment. This is a rare, furious backlash over a project canceled so early that fans never even got a single episode, trailer, or cast member to judge. Amazon treated the foundation as a limitation. I finally put my finger on it all. Maybe I’m the only one… but I’m overwhelmed with a “the buck needs to stop here” feeling. I’m a huge Stargate fan, but I’m also a SciFi Fantasy nerd in general. And I just feel like so many major IPs, that I dearly love, have been greatly mishandled by studios & executives of late. Yet here was this shining opportunity. Green lighting the new Gero led return of Stargate got my hopes up. Giddy even. With Brad Wright and Joe Mallozzi on board too?! Then the “rug pulled out from under us feeling” was bad enough… but the reported reasoning for the decision?! Just didn’t make sense. Based on what the creatives involved with the project had said in their interview re: taking great care to have broad appeal to newcomers while respecting what came before. So enough. Line in the sand. I wanna show them how wrong they are. Not by being a jerk… but by being consistent and rallying with this wonderful SG community. This family. I’m dug in & ready for the long haul. Because my heart just can’t take another hit to a beloved franchise. #SaveStargate #SciFi @AmazonMGMStudio @MichaelShanks @martingero @BaronDestructo @dial_the_gate @GateWorld

Dear Amazon… it is Martin Gero’s Stargate or bust! We have no interest in a reboot. We have no interest in a “new creative direction”. We have no interest in something made for “modern audiences” We want THIS Stargate from THESE creators! That’s it! If you make something else and slap a Stargate name on it… we will not show up. We will actively boycott! Your future generic “modern audiences” slop will fail without us! You either succeed with us or fail without us! That is your only choice! #SaveStargate You have already written the show! YOU HAVE ALREADY SPENT THE MONEY!

@AmazonMGM @PrimeVideo are you listening? Independent data highlights significant audience demand for the canceled Stargate revival, yielding a 75 Impact / 72% Positive rating before its cancellation resulted in a 69% negative backlash. You could just admit you made a mistake with the fans, we won't hold it against you! #SaveStargate We have a short window of opportunity to change their minds: reports suggest a two-week window for a reversal before contracts expire. Could not agree more!! Besides being a fan myself of multiple franchises, it is, literally, my career. I am gobsmacked at the number of times I still have the argument with execs, agents, distributors about the importance of transparency, relationship building, and just spending the time with fans. The shift has already happened. Markiplier’s movie, Obsession, Back Rooms have proven fans hold the power. The execs holding onto old studio system morés and antiquated decision making rules will be left behind. The irony here is that my feeling is that the execs take-away from He-Man, Back Rooms, etc., is the wrong one. Instead of understanding the power shift TO fans, they decided that ”old IP” was the problem.🙄
Throughout my career, I've been dismayed by the contempt some genre executives have held for fans, routinely underestimating their power to make or break a show. I've watched this repeat too many times, across too many shows, to be talking about any single one of them. Yet despite the mounting evidence over the past few years, they continue to dismiss the data, repeating the same miscalculations time and again. But technology has rewritten the rules, and the power dynamics are shifting. Today’s fans are organized, strategic, and highly data-literate - effectively turning the platforms' own metrics against them. As the bets get bigger and the audience grows sharper, it will be fascinating to see how this plays out.

If you haven't signed the #SaveStargate petition yet — we're at ~79k and pushing hard for 100k to show @AmazonMGMStudios the demand is real. Martin Gero's vision respects the canon and has strong support from the original cast & crew. This franchise already has 17 seasons of loyal fans ready to dive in. Don't let another great sci-fi project die in development hell! Sign & share for maximum reach: change.org/p/save-stargate-w… @MichaelShanks @JoeMallozzi — could we ask you to help boost this at the 90k and 100k milestones? It would mean a lot to the fandom! 🙏 @PrimeVideo @GateWorld @dial_the_gate @PopcastGuys @JennyStiven More ways to help: savestargate.com/

The sausage recipe may be revealed.
So why am I lashing out at the AMA, an organization I was a proud member of and worked very hard for when I was at JAMA? The X-world will learn, as I release documents regarding my litigation against them for firing me for what has been determined by the appropriate agencies as a 'civil rights violation.' You can use your imagination what that means in the context of their being all-in with DEI at the time. They claimed that I denied the existence of racism in medicine - the exact opposite of what I said in a podcast the AMA edited and published after review by my supervisor. I had no control of that process. The courts agreed with my claim of libel and defamation, a decision the AMA appealed and lost in a unanimous decision. Along the way the courts described the AMA as disingenuous. An organization that holds itself out as representing Americas Physicians to policy makers should not engage in libel and if they do, they should be disqualified from representing us. You have not heard much recently because the AMA asked the courts to keep the proceeding secret-They do not want the physician community to learn how they do business. However, the closed nature of the documentation is over, and I'll be able to share what I learned during the proceedings. It's not pretty and it shows how the AMA actually functions. This is not what I wanted in life. I am an academic surgeon. I have no interest in politics. But the AMA destroyed my career and reputation for capricious reasons. I cannot let that stand. The AMA needs to be held accountable, no matter how wealthy they are compared to me.

The overwhelming response and passionate backlash from the #Stargate fandom have proven beyond any doubt that: - Even 15 years after the original series ended, a massive audience still exists for high-quality Stargate content that respects and honors the established canon. - There is broad, enthusiastic agreement that a younger generation deserves the chance to discover the rich, expansive, and wonderful Stargate universe. - The fandom’s loyalty and excitement show there is huge commercial and cultural potential for new stories that bridge longtime fans with fresh audiences through authentic, legacy-driven storytelling. - This represents a major financial opportunity for Amazon while perfectly aligning with its bold new creative vision. @AmazonMGMStudio, you would be wise to reconsider your decision: stop cancelling contracts and start producing a faithful follow-up to the original Stargate series. #SaveStargate @PrimeVideo @martingero @bradtravelers
Nope. No. Sorry. Gonna have to push back on this. We were ever mindful of creating a show that would have broad appeal.

The most inspiring thing about #SaveStargate isn't that fans want a new show. It's that after all these years, people still believe the future is worth fighting for. That feels very Stargate to me. 🌌✨🚀

Mark Cuban understands Capitalism, has a better understanding of health care than most, and is doing something about it. These are directly linked because markets do a better job of matching supply and demand than centralized economies can do… if information flows freely.
The reason anyone gets insanely rich is almost always because of the stock market. It certainly how @elonmusk did. And the reason they get rich from the stock market, is because 150m Americans decided they wanted to own shares of stocks directly, or through their retirement plans, or through other approaches as a way of building their net worth and trying to create a better life for themselves. One Hundred Fifty Million Americans. About 60% of adults. Effectively believing that @elonmusk and many billionaires could make them wealthier and help them achieve a better life. If you want @elonmusk , and most billionaires to no longer be that rich, convince those 150m to sell their stocks, funds, ETFs whatever. Of course you would wipe out the net-worth of most of those people, and everyone else’s savings, as the markets crashed and brought down the economy and created the worst depression we have ever seen. Alternatively There are ways to improve healthcare access and eventually make it available to all. To start - If you want @elonmusk and all billionaires to improve healthcare for everyone , ask them to stop doing business with the enormous healthcare conglomerates and to work directly with transparently priced care providers. It’s the behemoth HC conglomerates that make HC so bad for so many. (Check my timeline for more detail) Removing them would push the cost of healthcare down for everyone. Their corporate decisions impact our healthcare cost and availability. Of course if they do that, not only would our HC costs go down , and the quality of care for their employees and the entire country go up But They would see their corporate cash flow increase dramatically and we would have more millionaires, billionaires and maybe even another trillionaire when that cash flow moved from the big health care conglomerates to their bottom line, so would the net worth of the 150 million American adults that own public stocks Capitalism is better than socialism because 150m Americans can influence exactly what happens in this country.
