We all have a deep love of this great country. And we show that love in how we lift our fellow Australians up. Today I spoke at the 2026 Australian of the Year Awards lunch.   Each of these nominees remind us every day what it means to be Australian. Brave, caring and supportive of one another. Good luck to all the nominees this Sunday, as Australia’s 2026 Australian of the Year is announced.

Celebrating the incredible work of teachers for World Teachers’ Day. My parents, Ron and Wendy, devoted their lives to teaching. I have seen first-hand the patience, dedication and belief in young people that defines the profession. To every teacher in Perth, and across Australia, thank you for the difference you make every day.

As the son of two teachers, I know the value of a good education. Labor is wiping student debt, making TAFE free and delivering a 3 day childcare guarantee while staying focused on supporting your household budgets. That's turning Perth's local values into national results. #auspol

Peter Dutton wants you to pay for your boss to have a long lunch. That’s about 51,612,903 packs of 40 nuggets... If you were wondering. #auspol

Honoured to represent the Prime Minister, @AlboMP at the 2024 World Water Forum in Bali, Indonesia. I thank President Widodo for being an excellent host and thank participating countries for sharing their expertise in water resource management in a changing climate. 🌎

REJECT DUTTON’S BUDGET CUTS. Peter Dutton has started work on the Liberal Party’s list of cuts. Here’s a taste of his plan to cut Medicare, Aged Care, education and more so he can pay for nuclear power plants. #auspol

Introducing the Albanese Government's Net Zero Economy Authority Bill. Two years ago, Australia had no target for net zero, no target for emissions reduction and no plan for energy transition. The Net Zero Economy Authority will support the workers, industries and communities that have powered Australia for generations. #auspol

Today is one of the most embarrassing days of Peter Dutton’s leadership. Dutton is voting yes to Labor’s tax cuts, while his team have called them: 1. "An egregious error" 2. "A betrayal" 3. "Treachery" 4. "Absolutely shameful" 5. "Class warfare" 6. "War on aspiration" 7. "Divisive" 8. "Handful of dollars" 9. "A big tax grab" and 10. "Marxist economics" #auspol

Congratulations to Yalmay Yunupiŋu, the 2024 Senior Australian of the Year! A revered Elder in her community, Yalmay preserves the Yolŋu Matha language and culture while providing traditional healing nationwide. My article on Peter Dutton’s dodgy history opposing the WA GST deal has really upset some conservative commentators. So here it is again. #auspol

80 years ago today, the Curtin Government won a landslide election which saw them gain a majority in Parliament. He was a proud Western Australian and our nation’s greatest Prime Minister.

It’s time to campaign like never before. “The spirit of yes is big and generous and so very Australian. It flows through communities and across faiths, across business, and unions across sporting codes." - Prime Minister Anthony Albanese

“Now Yunupingu is gone, but the gurtha — the great tongue of flame and truth with which spoke to us — is still with us.”
Yunupingu walked in two worlds with authority, power and grace, and he worked to make them whole — together. He was a leader, a statesman, a great Yolngu man and a great Australian. He now walks in another place, but he has left such great footsteps for us to follow in this one.

Peter Dutton owes Australians an explanation on secret ministries. It has been revealed that when Peter Dutton was Minister, a secret Assistant Minister was proposed for the Home Affairs portfolio. Did he know? Will he explain? #auspoI

How out of touch are the NSW Liberals? They spent their 2023 campaign launch pretending John Howard is Prime Minister, pretending Scott Morrison never happened, and pretending that Peter Dutton doesn't exist. #NSWpol
